They cannot outlast American pressure under the current administration, so they are playing for time and hoping voters deliver them a friendlier Congress.<\/p>\n<p>That calculation should bother every American who still thinks foreign policy is about national interest rather than party. When a hostile regime openly waits for one side to regain power, it is because they expect less resistance, fewer sanctions, and a return to the same weakness that invited this fight in the first place.<\/p>\n<p>Enemies do not respect speeches.
