Ilhan Omar had come by her U.S. citizenship honestly.<\/p>\n<p>In the wake of the federal investigation into that question and other matters \u2014 which included a raid on Omar\u2019s home in Washington, D.C. \u2014 Kern is once more explaining the claims against the lawmaker.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.newsnationnow.com\/politics\/ilhan-omar-citizenship-aj-kern-claims\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">NewsNation<\/a> reported on Wednesday that back in 2019, Kern was the first to question whether Omar was 17 or 18 when she obtained citizenship through her father\u2019s naturalization.<\/p>\n<p>If she were 18 or older, she could not have become a citizen through her father.<\/p>\n<p>Kern posted a video about the Minnesota Legislative Reference Library listing Omar\u2019s birth date as Oct. 4, 1981.<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\">\n<p dir=\"ltr\" lang=\"en\">Questions about Rep. More: https:\/\/t.co\/9lfXS7OHUj<\/p>\n<p>\u2014 NewsNation (@NewsNation) <a href=\"https:\/\/x.com\/NewsNation\/status\/2110095724935594162?\">October 13, 2026<\/a><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p><script async src=\"https:\/\/platform.x.com\/widgets.js\" charset=\"utf-8\"><\/script><\/p>\n<p>NewsNation obtained an  from Omar\u2019s staff at the time asking the Minnesota Legislative Reference Library to change her birth year from 1981 to 1982.<\/p>\n<p>As Kern continued to probe the matter, she received a Certificate of Non-Existence from the U.S. Department of Homeland Security \u2014 meaning that they could not find records related to Omar\u2019s father becoming a citizen.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cSince she claims derivative citizenship through her father and he passed away in 2020, I requested his records,\u201d Kern told NewsNation.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAnd it took a year, but I have a letter from U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services dated June 20, 2023, that states that after a thorough search of their database and using all variations of his name, that there is no record of her father\u2019s naturalization,\u201d she continued.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAnd then I sent off to the Department of Homeland Security, and they also did a search of their database, using all variations of his name. They also found that her father was not in their database.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Kern also detailed her findings to conservative commentator Benny Johnson on Thursday.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt\u2019s easy for refugees to come into the country, obtain a driver\u2019s license, register to vote, and then all they have to do is say, \u2018I\u2019m a citizen, I\u2019m a citizen,\u2019 and no one can do anything about it,\u201d Kern noted.<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\">\n<p dir=\"ltr\" lang=\"en\">I just spoke with the woman who EXPOSED the Ilhan Omar birth date scandal PROVING she is NOT a U.S. citizen, then she CAUGHT Ilhan changing the date\u2026<\/p>\n<p>AJ Kern was just vindicated\u2026Here is what she exposed:<\/p>\n<p>Official records listed birth year as 1981. That made her 18 in March 2000 \u2014 too old for derived citizenship when her father first became eligible to naturalize.<\/p>\n<p>Days after Kern\u2019s video, the birth year was changed to 1982 by Omar\u2019s congressional staffers with Minnesota records.<\/p>\n<p>USCIS and DHS both confirmed no naturalization records for her father.<\/p>\n<p>Minnesota does not verify citizenship for voter registration or congressional candidacy. Self-attestation is enough.<\/p>\n<p>FEC and Congress also do not check.
