When her lack of knowledge was exposed, she attempted to evade the questions rather of clarifying. The situation arose during a meeting about a faculty resolution, which included a vote of no confidence in university President Michael Kotlikoff due to his handling of the case. Critics criticized Kotlikoff for not reviewing the police report or understanding the criminal case, despite legal guidelines advising against such review to maintain neutrality. The resolution was driven by faculty members, including professor Paul Ortiz, who accused the administration of fostering a climate of fear that discourages victims from reporting sexual assault. Kotlikoff responded by banning fraternity parties and social events to promote safety. During interviews, Professor Xaka dismissed questions about evidence-such as Jane Doe’s text messages-saying she didn’t rely on legal sources but on student journalists, which was challenged. Her evasive responses highlight concerns about academic rigor and the potential for ideological posturing among faculty.

On Wednesday, a Cornell ‘black feminist’ professor was pressed by a reporter on the Jane Doe lawsuit.
