Trump highlighted that Zelenskyy\u2019s actions have raised oil prices and accused him of making a poor humanitarian and strategic choice by hitting targets that affect global fuel supplies, especially diesel. There\u2019s plenty of other targets. They don\u2019t have to hit\u2013 there are a lot of targets that you can hit.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cBut when you shoot a diesel refineries where you make diesel oil, and we need that, and the world needs that, then he\u2019s not doing a good service for the world,\u201d the president added.<\/p>\n<p>The president also admitted that to him personally, dealing with Zelenskyy is harder than dealing with Russian President Vladimir Putin.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI find Zelenskyy to be more difficult to deal with than Putin,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<p>This wasn\u2019t the first instance of him criticizing Zelenskyy in favor of the Russian president:<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\">\n<p dir=\"ltr\" lang=\"en\">.@POTUS: \u201cI think, actually, Putin wants to make a deal more than Zelensky.\u201d https:\/\/t.co\/jakykFpNCP<\/p>\n<p>\u2014 Rapid Response 47 (@RapidResponse47) <a href=\"https:\/\/x.com\/RapidResponse47\/status\/2109755504918458880?\">October 12, 2026<\/a><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p><script async src=\"https:\/\/platform.x.com\/widgets.js\" charset=\"utf-8\"><\/script><\/p>\n<p>However, Zelenskyy has also been critical of Trump.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAs his clash escalated with Trump, Zelenskyy was in Brussels on Friday to shore up support from European allies, whom he called \u2018real leaders\u2019 as they gathered for a crucial summit,\u201d according to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nbcnews.com\/world\/ukraine\/trump-ukraine-strikes-russian-oil-disgrace-zelenskyy-starlink-rcna603848?cid=sm_npd_nn_tw_ma&#038;taid=6ad1ff06a5a13b00019bb8a9\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">NBC News<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>All of this comes after President Trump <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/zelensky-flips-trumps-russian-fuel-deal-new-report-says-deal-fault\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">announced a deal<\/a> last week to buy diesel from Russia. The tentative deal sparked bipartisan backlash, with critics accusing him of acquiescing to Russia.<\/p>\n<p>At least eight Senate Republicans have already publicly criticized the deal, according to <a href=\"https:\/\/thehill.com\/homenews\/senate\/6146695-senate-gop-criticize-russia-diesel-deal\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">The Hill<\/a>. He goes and hits the diesel fuel.
