A medical condition that causes leg swelling made it hard for the man to get into Hope\u2019s car.<\/p>\n<p>Hope called a ride, met him at the restaurant, picked up the food, followed him home, and stayed to talk.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cSo he didn\u2019t feel that loneliness, you know?\u201d Hope said.<\/p>\n<p>Hope has checked in by phone with the man every day since.<\/p>\n<p>A <a href=\"https:\/\/www.gofundme.com\/f\/care-for-mr-roy-in-his-time-of-need\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">GoFundMe<\/a> for the man, referred to as Mr. Roy, raised about $1,000 in its first day.
