Grenell was <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/head-kennedy-center-fired-founder-western-journal-biblical-values-now-stepping\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">ousted<\/a> from the Kennedy Center in March.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cPOTUS doesn\u2019t want to deal with this,\u201d a senior administration official told Axios. \u201cOf course, he\u2019s concerned. But if there is missing money, this is a big, big problem.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Axios reported that in the spring of 2025, Grenell persuaded Mildon to include the $5.6 million Kennedy Center donation \u201cin a lump-sum $17.6 million payment for a business deal involving a U.S. company.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>After Mildon made the alleged donation, according to the report, he didn\u2019t initially check to determine whether it had actually been deposited. He just assumed it would be, because of the VIP treatment he\u2019d customarily received at the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/kennedy-center-board-restoring-trumps-name-building-move-sure-frustrate-judge-ordered-removed\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">renamed Kennedy Center<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>According to Axios, the Kennedy Center was also where he met Habba in late 2025. Despite being friends with the couple, Grenell was \u201cnotably absent\u201d from their lavish wedding last month. None has come so far,\u201d a White House official confirmed with Axios.<\/p>\n<p>It doesn\u2019t help that Habba has reportedly changed her numbers, first telling the White House that her husband donated $17 million before backtracking and clarifying that it was just $5.6 million.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThis has been hard to track because numbers have changed,\u201d the unnamed White House official told Axios.<\/p>\n<p>However, Lisa Dale, who handled finances for the Kennedy Center at the time, confirmed to Axios that there is no record of the multimillion-dollar sum anywhere.
