There is the 10 Commandments: thou shalt not kill.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Talarico simply told her, \u201cIt\u2019s okay that you and I come to different conclusions about that.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>No, it definitely is not okay.<\/p>\n<p>How can voters who oppose the slaughter and dismemberment of children find any common ground with Talarico or his party?<\/p>\n<p>For all of the mental gymnastics he tries here, the issue is black and white.<\/p>\n<p>Either you support the murder of children in the womb, or you do not.<\/p>\n<p>Talarico\u2019s understanding of Scripture is strange, but more accurately abhorrent. That tracks well with <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/blasphemy-another-talaricos-called-pastors-says-jesus-didnt-die-sins-virgin-birth-pagan-myth\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">leadership at his church<\/a> claiming Jesus did not die for our sins and that we cannot know if He even existed.<\/p>\n<p>The town hall gave audiences more moments like this as he tried to inch away from the radicalism Democrats have spent years endorsing.<\/p>\n<p>Deviating from the \u201cAbolish ICE\u201d narrative the left uses with Immigration and Customs Enforcement, Talarico said, \u201cWe need Immigration and Customs Enforcement in this country, but that\u2019s not what we\u2019re seeing,\u201d commenting, \u201cWhat we\u2019ve seen over the last year is a secret police force, and that\u2019s what we don\u2019t want in this country.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Sure, calling ICE the \u201csecret police\u201d is not moderate, but it\u2019s a step back from the lunacy of the left by at least understanding the agency is needed.<\/p>\n<p>Talarico maintains a slim lead over his Republican opponent, Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton, as the <a href=\"https:\/\/nypost.com\/2026\/10\/14\/us-news\/james-talarico-ruthlessly-fact-checked-by-voter-after-claiming-bible-is-silent-on-abortion-at-cnn-town-hall\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">New York Post,<\/a> citing RealClearPolling, puts him ahead by 2.6 percentage points.<\/p>\n<p>He\u2019s trying to tread lightly until November, but abortion is not a middle ground issue with room for nuance.
