Initially,MS NOW claimed that Patel was in Russia based on anonymous sources, but the FBI and patel both clarified that he was actually in Virginia, attending a <a href="https://www.conservativenewsdaily.net/breaking-news/live-1-pm-et-lighthouse-baptist-church-holds-law-enforcement-appreciation-event/" title="Lighthouse Baptist Church hosts ... Dilanian, a journalist, issued a correction hours later, acknowledging the error and emphasizing that Patel remains in the U.S. The story also highlights the broader issue of misinformation, with critics pointing out the absence of confirmation from official sources and accusing outlets like MS NOW of spreading fake news. Additionally, patel responded by posting details of his accomplishments at the FBI and demanded an apology from the media. The article touches on legal actions taken by outlets like MS NOW, which have filed lawsuits after losing White House access, and mentions other media efforts related to defending truth and confronting misinformation.

MS NOW reported on Wednesday that FBI Director Kash Patel had just landed in Russia, but the FBI posted video of him in Virginia to disprove the erroneous report.

Justice and intelligence correspondent Ken Dilanian told host Peter Alexander on “State of Play” that two sources familiar with the matter said Patel had arrived in Russia for a planned trip, according to a report from Mediaite.

Dilanian said the bureau was not commenting, that he had asked for a response and not received one, and that the last FBI director to visit Russia was Robert Mueller in 2013.

He also said the planned meeting had raised concerns, and that Democratic lawmakers had urged Patel to call it off.

Ken Dilanian has admitted the “Patel in Russia” scoop isn’t real, but, of course, he had to pat himself on the back while doing so, “I want to correct reporting from earlier today.
