It highlights how lawn signs and campaign symbols are repeatedly used to gauge political support, often creating misleading impressions. In 2018, O’Rourke’s yard signs and media coverage portrayed him as a rising star, embracing Texas culture and making blue Texas feel more attainable. Despite signs favoring O’Rourke, he ultimately lost the election to Cruz. The piece underscores that election outcomes are what truly matter, and all the repeated stories and symbolism are just distractions until the votes are counted. The author emphasizes the futility of relying on superficial campaign signals to predict results, highlighting the importance of ballot counts over media narratives.

                  Image CreditKHOU 11 /YouTube

Share

                         Share Article on Facebook

                         Share Article on Twitter

                <path d="M69.444 55.716H56.772v10.37h12.672zM64.487 37.795V27.32H38.666v38.664h13.18v-28.19zM21.05 27.321h12.653v10.471H21.051z"https://thefederalist.com/> Share Article on Truth Social

                         Copy Article Link

                         Share Article via Email

Few things are ever new in politics.
