The event was triggered by an altercation at a gas station, where Arndt became aggressive after seeing an anti-Hamas bumper sticker. He verbally attacked a man, using vulgar language and anti-Israel statements, including shouting &#8220;f*** Israel&#8221; and denouncing the Israel lobby and neocons. The man, an Israeli immigrant, recorded the encounter, sharing that Arndt expressed support for Palestine while exhibiting violent behavior. Then a barrage of f-bombs toward an Israeli man. And last, but hardly least, came charges against a Green Party candidate running for Congress.<\/p>\n<p>Matthew Arndt, 54, was arrested by the Mequon police on a charge of disorderly conduct with a hate crime enhancer, according to the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.jsonline.com\/story\/communities\/north\/2026\/10\/08\/6th-congressional-district-arndt-green-party-candidate-arrested-for-hate-crime-glenn-grothman\/92161199007\/?gnt-cfr=1&#038;gca-cat=p&#038;gca-uir=false&#038;gca-epti=z112822p116450l002250c116450u113322e1115xxv112822&#038;gca-ft=37&#038;gca-ds=sophi\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Milwaukee Journal-Sentinel<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Mequon is a suburb of Milwaukee. Arndt is running in Wisconsin\u2019s 6th Congressional District on the Green Party ticket.<\/p>\n<p>The <a href=\"https:\/\/heartlandpost.com\/exclusive-video-green-party-congressional-candidate-goes-on-antisemitic-tirade\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Heartland Post<\/a> reported that the incident began when Arndt apparently became enraged at an anti-Hamas bumper sticker. Go post it on f***ing social media! I\u2019m running for Congress here in the 6th Congressional District and f*** Israel!\u201d Arndt said, spreading his denunciations around by adding, \u201cGo f*** yourself! F*** the Israel lobby and f*** the neocons!\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWow, you\u2019re running for Congress?\u201d the man asked, later asking for Arndt\u2019s name.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cFree Palestine!\u201d Arndt said. \u201cIt\u2019s Matthew Arndt!\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The man who was filming, a 41-year-old immigrant from Israel who has lived in the United States for 12 years, and who had his son in the back of the car with him, gave his side of the story to the <a href=\"https:\/\/nypost.com\/2026\/10\/08\/us-news\/house-candidate-matthew-arndt-arrested-after-hate-filled-rant-at-israeli-dad\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">New York Post<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI was driving my son to school this morning. Someone was driving behind me. I have an Israeli flag sticker with \u2018F*** Hamas,\u2019 which, as far as I understand, is a terror organization that was declared so by the U.S.,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAnd I guess that really pissed off the guy behind me, and when he got the chance, he just got next to me and opened the window and started cursing and giving me the finger, almost trying to push me off the lane.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The father said he tried to keep his distance from the aggressive driver, particularly because his little boy was in the back seat, but that he followed him into a gas station.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI had my son in the back seat and tried to keep my distance from him, drove behind him, took a picture of his license plate, and when he pulled into a gas station I pulled in as well,\u201d he recalled.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe first thought that comes to mind is, even if I disagree with someone, I would never want someone that acts like this to run for Congress,\u201d he said. \u201cEven if he and I don\u2019t hold the same opinion, that\u2019s fine, but that was violent.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The father noted that he does not hate all Palestinians, but only those who prey on Jews.<\/p>\n<p>He said his bumper sticker \u201cdoesn\u2019t go against the Palestinians.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI have nothing against the Palestinians.
