The White House confirmed his absence, citing concerns for the storm’s impact and the need for first responders and law enforcement to concentrate on storm preparation and safety. Trump plans to visit the teams later and will instead hold a rally in Tennessee for midterm election candidates. Meanwhile, various college football games have been rescheduled because of the storm, which is expected to make landfall in Florida. The storm has been characterized by strong winds, heavy storm surge, flooding, and power outages. Florida Governor Ron DeSantis urged residents in vulnerable coastal areas to evacuate promptly, highlighting the dangers posed by storm surge and emphasizing that storm surges are the primary threat to life. The National Hurricane Center warns of life-threatening inundation and inland flooding from rising waters expected with the storm’s approach.

President Donald Trump will not attend Saturday’s college football rivalry matchup between Alabama and Georgia because of Hurricane Isaias.

The White House confirmed Trump’s plans on Friday, according to an Outkick report, as Trump also addressed his absence on .

“Based on the fact that a huge Hurricane/Storm is coming, it is important to have our wonderful First Responders, Law Enforcement, and others, focused on that Storm, and in no way be thinking about the safety, or presence, of the President of the United States, ME!” he wrote.

“Therefore, I will miss that potentially unbelievable Game, Alabama vs. Georgia but, hopefully, the Game will go on despite the weather!
