It emphasizes the dangers of drug use, specifically highlighting the role of hard drugs like ketamine, which where reportedly used during a night involving alcohol, partying, and potential sexual misconduct. The author criticizes the focus on consent and sexual regret in the media, arguing that the more critical problem is the consumption of perilous drugs that impair judgment and lead to risky situations. Evidence from text messages suggests that the woman involved had been under the influence of ketamine, which could explain her emotional distress afterward. The article advocates for college students, especially women, to avoid hard drugs to prevent harmful consequences. It concludes with a reminder that underage drinking is common but still risky, and warns that engaging in drug use, particularly with drugs like ketamine, can have severe repercussions, as illustrated by ongoing lawsuits and potential criminal charges. The overarching message is to prioritize staying in school and making safer choices regarding drug use.

                  Image CreditABC/YouTube

Share

                         Share Article on Facebook

                         Share Article on Twitter

                <path d="M69.444 55.716H56.772v10.37h12.672zM64.487 37.795V27.32H38.666v38.664h13.18v-28.19zM21.05 27.321h12.653v10.471H21.051z"https://thefederalist.com/> Share Article on Truth Social

                         Copy Article Link

                         Share Article via Email

<a target="_blank" href="http://thefederalist.com/#" rel="nofollow" onclick="window.print(); College students, ladies in particular, don’t do hard drugs. Especially when it involves a group of men.

We don’t know yet what exactly happened in October 2024 at the Chi Phi fraternity house with Jane Doe. We probably never will. But all public evidence currently indicates a 20-year-old woman got drunk at a sorority house, went to a couple of bars, then went to a frat house where she met a male friend and initially agreed to a threesome that ultimately included drugs and may have included other men.

No one begrudges a college student, whether male or female, drinking underage. If she’s legally old enough to have died for her country, she can have as many drinks as she wants (so long as she’s not caught). But drinking comes with consequences. Everything does. That includes consuming hard drugs.

Jane Doe reportedly said in other text messages days after the night of partying that she could only “sleep and cry all day.” Without concluding whether she was raped, that testimony isn’t discernibly different from any person who has done hard drugs and is on a come-down. Drugs like ketamine create a hyper sense of euphoria while it’s in the system. And once it’s gone, the user crashes. Depression and anxiety are normal. Those feelings are almost certainly heightened when the user engaged in risky behavior while under the influence. That’s true whether it’s ketamine or alcohol or Adderall.

There’s a lawsuit playing out and now, potential criminal charges. Regardless, there’s a big lesson to be learned. Don’t do drugs and just stay in school.

Eddie Scarry is the D.C. columnist at The Federalist and author of “Traitors: The Democrat Party’s Collapse into Anti-American Filth.”

Eddie Scarry

                          Visit on Twitter @eScarry

        More Articles

#MeToo

Cornell

Cornell 7

drugs

education

ketamine

[33651
86994,5152,64791,37809
post-2679982","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","hentry","category-the-western-journal","tag-drug-prevention","tag-education","tag-school-programs","tag-teen-safety
["GET
