Let us embrace the Luciferian impulse to eat of the tree of knowledge and dissipate our blissful and comforting delusions of old.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cLet us demand that individuals be judged for their concrete actions, not their fealty to arbitrary social norms and illusory categorizations,\u201d he continued.<\/p>\n<p>He concluded, \u201cIt is done. Hail Satan.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Presumably, the \u201cIt is done\u201d pronouncement was intended to mock Jesus\u2019 last words spoken from the cross, \u201cIt is finished.\u201d In other words, Christ announced that his substitutionary death paid for the sins of mankind, and therefore death, hell, and the devil had been defeated.<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\">\n<p dir=\"ltr\" lang=\"en\">A city council meeting takes an unexpected turn after a Satanic prayer prompted another man to stand up and call for the curse on the city to be reversed. https:\/\/t.co\/H2vs1eIH9Q<\/p>\n<p>\u2014 The Western Journal (@WesternJournalX) <a href=\"https:\/\/x.com\/WesternJournalX\/status\/2108268464540659788?\">October 8, 2026<\/a><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p><script async src=\"https:\/\/platform.x.com\/widgets.js\" charset=\"utf-8\"><\/script><\/p>\n<p>Interestingly, the next item on the council members\u2019 agenda was placing their hands on their hearts and reciting the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/watch-red-skeltons-legendary-pledge-allegiance-performance-kids-resurfaces-another-dem-lawmaker-disrespects-pledge\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Pledge of Allegiance<\/a>, which ends, \u201cone nation, under God, indivisible, with liberty and justice for all.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>As I explained in my book, \u201c<a href=\"https:\/\/www.amazon.com\/dp\/B0H6GH4VPN\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">We Hold These Truths<\/a>: The Two Beliefs That Still Hold the Power to Transform the Nation and the World,\u201d the phrase \u201cunder God\u201d was added to the pledge in 1954 after then-President Dwight Eisenhower <a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonpost.com\/news\/retropolis\/wp\/2018\/06\/14\/the-gripping-sermon-that-got-under-god-added-to-the-pledge-of-allegiance-on-flag-day\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">heard a sermon<\/a> at the Washington, D.C., church Abraham Lincoln attended during the Civil War.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">During his remarks, the Presbyterian minister emphasized the importance of the two words, \u201cunder God,\u201d in Lincoln\u2019s Gettysburg Address, particularly as the nation faced down <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/trump-warns-nation-godless-communists-following-troubling-election-results-will-kill-people\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">godless communism<\/a> in the 1950s.<\/p>\n<p>After the sermon, Eisenhower told the preacher, \u201cI agree entirely.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Soon thereafter, \u201cunder God\u201d was added to the pledge, and the president <a href=\"https:\/\/www.presidency.ucsb.edu\/documents\/statement-the-president-upon-signing-bill-include-the-words-under-god-the-pledge-the-flag\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">observed<\/a> after he signed the bill into law that millions of schoolchildren would daily proclaim \u201cthe <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/trumps-usa-rededication-god-event-dc-will-occur-date-continental-congress-took-similar-action-1776\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">dedication of our nation<\/a> and our people to the Almighty\u201d and be reminded of our country\u2019s \u201ctrue meaning,\u201d and \u201cin this way we are reaffirming the transcendence of religious faith in America\u2019s heritage and future; in this way we shall constantly strengthen those spiritual weapons which forever will be our country\u2019s most powerful resource, in peace or in war.\u201d<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\">\n<p dir=\"ltr\" lang=\"en\">Three locations, three General Dwight Eisenhower statues: his presidential museum in Abilene, Kansas; West Point, New York; and the Eisenhower Memorial in Washington, D.C.<\/p>\n<p>Eisenhower, as president, supported adding \u201cunder God\u201d to the Pledge of Allegiance in 1954, observing that millions of schoolchildren would from then on be reminded of our country\u2019s \u201ctrue meaning,\u201d reaffirming \u201cthe transcendence of religious faith in America\u2019s heritage and future\u201d and thereby \u201cstrengthen[ing] those spiritual weapons which will forever be our country\u2019s most powerful resource, in peace or in war.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Learn more and read a sample of my book \u201cWe Hold These Truths\u201d here: https:\/\/t.co\/YIYukdoUNn<\/p>\n<p>\u2014 Randy DeSoto (@RandyDeSoto) <a href=\"https:\/\/x.com\/RandyDeSoto\/status\/2106623345261220135?\">October 4, 2026<\/a><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p><script async src=\"https:\/\/platform.x.com\/widgets.js\" charset=\"utf-8\"><\/script><\/p>\n<p>After the Ottumwa Council recited the Pledge of Allegiance Tuesday, resident Rick Bick, pastor of New Life Center, rose to address the council members and the town mayor.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cLet\u2019s just reverse that curse that was just put on our city, that ending with \u2018Hail [Satan]\u2019 and hail dark god. That\u2019s not welcome here,\u201d Bick said.<\/p>\n<p>Council member Cara Galloway objected, saying that Bick was speaking out of order, because the resident comments normally come at the end of the meeting.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt needs to be done now,\u201d Bick fired back. \u201cI appreciate what Ms. Galloway is saying, but that was a curse put on the city\u2026 Most of you know that, and we need to just stop and reverse it.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Mayor Benjamin Foote declared a 30-second moment of silence would be appropriate \u201cto reflect on whatever it is we need to reflect on at this time,\u201d but again, Galloway objected, saying, \u201cIt was time to move forward.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The mayor overruled her, and a moment of silence was observed.<\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"YouTube video player\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/GhnHU8YTitU?si=e1sc7rQQ4FaBb--F\" width=\"560\" height=\"315\" frameborder=\"0\" allowfullscreen=\"allowfullscreen\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>City administrator Philip Rath addressed the controversy on KBIZ\u2019s \u201cDialogue\u201d show Wednesday morning, saying Ottumwa, located 85 miles southeast of Des Moines, had adopted a new policy in January, which opened the invocation up to participants from other faiths besides Christianity, according to the Ottumwa Courier.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI don\u2019t know what\u2019s on Mr. Dalbey\u2019s heart, but that\u2019s part of what happens when you have an open policy like this,\u201d Rath said. \u201cYou have to be open to allow people to express their different beliefs.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The policy could be revisited, he added, but doing so might open the city up to lawsuits.<\/p>\n<p>The U.S. Supreme Court ruled in the 2014 case <a href=\"https:\/\/constitutioncenter.org\/the-constitution\/supreme-court-case-library\/town-of-greece-v-galloway\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Town of Greece v.
