We\u2019ve been shutting down any stories we\u2019ve heard but again I\u2019m so so sorry.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Jane responded, \u201caw jonathan i really appreciate this text. my memories super clouded too\u2026\u201d She added that everyone was \u201cdrunk and high.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>She added, \u201ci really liked being w u and matt. so anything anyone has to say about the gamgbang [sic] is out of their jurisdiction.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Jane concluded texting, \u201ci don\u2019t think we should feel any shame for the part. our body our choice \u2026\u201d<\/p>\n<p>So the issue both seemed to be concerned about at that point was their reputations taking a hit for aberrant sexual behavior.<\/p>\n<p>Independent journalist Michael Tracey <a href=\"https:\/\/x.com\/mtracey\/status\/2108267569677545563?\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">posted on X<\/a> in response to the TMZ story, \u201cIt\u2019s not exactly a \u2018new text.\u2019 Major media outlets (ABC, CBS, NYT) have had these texts for over a week now, and chose only to publish EXCERPTS that EXCLUDED her saying it was \u2018our body our choice\u2019 to have what SHE calls a \u2018gang bang\u2019 (as opposed to \u2018gang rape.\u2019)<\/p>\n<p>Assuming that these outlets had the texts TMZ did, Tracey makes a solid point. Regardless, it does not appear they have put out new stories with the \u201cour body our choice\u201d language.<\/p>\n<p>About two weeks after the alleged rape, Jane Doe\u2019s view of what happened that night appears to have changed. She <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/watch-letitia-james-no-answer-reporter-points-big-problem-cornell-move\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">texted<\/a> one of the fraternity brothers, \u201cLet\u2019s be clear that 90% of what happened that night was not consensual,\u201d adding, \u201cAll i remember after that was you giving me ket[amine].\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Days later, she went to Cornell campus police.<\/p>\n<p>The facts of what happened at this point are unclear.<\/p>\n<p>We\u2019ve seen in the past that a rush to judgment based on allegations alone can lead to the wrong conclusions.
