You can trace Cunningham\u2019s comments on transgenderism back to January, but her July ESPN <a href=\"https:\/\/www.espn.com\/wnba\/story\/_\/id\/49306657\/sophie-cunningham-finger-point-indiana-fever-wnba\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">profile<\/a> truly cemented her as a women\u2019s sports advocate.<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\">\n<p dir=\"ltr\" lang=\"en\">Sophie Cunningham sent a bold, truthful message at the Mizzou vs Florida game with her hat<\/p>\n<p>The side said \u201cNo Cis, just..\u201d<br \/> The front: \u201cWoman\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Now The Athletic\/New York Times are calling for the Fever to get rid of her\u2026<\/p>\n<p>We need more bold, female athletes like Cunningham. https:\/\/t.co\/ZJoAmMg5IU<\/p>\n<p>\u2014 Jon Root (@JonnyRoot_) <a href=\"https:\/\/x.com\/JonnyRoot_\/status\/2107546345581990358?\">October 6, 2026<\/a><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p><script async src=\"https:\/\/platform.x.com\/widgets.js\" charset=\"utf-8\"><\/script><\/p>\n<p>\u201cI want to protect young girls in a locker room, or young girls in sport who shouldn\u2019t have to go against biological men.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Her message, however, resonates far beyond conservative or sports-based media circles. The data suggest she speaks for most Americans.<\/p>\n<p>A recent Pew Research <a href=\"https:\/\/www.pewresearch.org\/short-reads\/2026\/08\/11\/most-americans-are-uncomfortable-with-transgender-athletes-on-sports-teams-that-dont-match-their-birth-sex\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">survey<\/a> of more than 15,000 American adults found that 73 percent are uncomfortable with transgender athletes competing on teams that do not match their biological sex. Some 66 percent support legally banning men from women\u2019s sports.<\/p>\n<p>Left, right, and center, Cunningham is preaching to the choir. It just so happens that the fringe left are very loud singers.<\/p>\n<p>But here\u2019s the deal: Cunningham\u2019s statement is not confined to the basketball court. This hat isn\u2019t just about women\u2019s sports or politics \u2014 it\u2019s essentially an attack on the entire transgender ideology.<\/p>\n<p>The phrase \u201cNo Cis, Just\u2026 Woman,\u201d implies that the extra identifying labels like \u201ccis\u201d or \u201ctrans\u201d are unnecessary.<\/p>\n<p>Why? Because you don\u2019t need an identifying label to determine someone\u2019s gender. Biology does it just fine.<\/p>\n<p>For years, trans activists have been attempting to create categories of gender expression, such as cisgender, transgender, nonbinary, among many others. The idea of \u201cNo Cis, Just\u2026 Woman\u201d launches these categories out the window.<\/p>\n<p>Within this framework, there is no longer an infinite number of genders \u2014 only two.<\/p>\n<p>Thank you, Sophie, for a very welcome return to reality. It\u2019s a simpler way of life.<\/p>\n<p>Simplicity, however, is not the only benefit to living in reality. Acknowledging the existence of two genders leads to a stronger social order.<\/p>\n<p>A decade ago, <a href=\"https:\/\/youtube.com\/shorts\/0YgXaRq5rcs?si=ZefsVLhtLbK4353E\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Norm Macdonald<\/a> hit the nail on the head when he said about the word cisgender, \u201cIt\u2019s a way of marginalizing a normal person.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Statistically speaking, 100 percent of the population is either a man or a woman. Virtually everyone believes they are either a man or a woman. Using the word \u201ccisgender\u201d tries to denigrate sanity to the fringe.<\/p>\n<p>Furthermore, saying that the six-foot-five bearded male coated in makeup is \u201cjust another kind of woman\u201d seriously perverts what it means to be a woman.<\/p>\n<p>Sophie Cunningham\u2019s message was simple because reality is simple.
