He was a reality television personality whose home was destroyed in the Pacific Palisades fires \u2014 over which incumbent Los Angeles Democratic Mayor Karen Bass presided.<\/p>\n<p>In one campaign advertisement, Pratt filmed himself outside of the mansions occupied by his left-wing opponents before showing the trailer in which he was forced to reside after the disaster.<\/p>\n<p>The commercial \u2014 entitled \u201cThey Not Like Us\u201d \u2014 received 15 million views and 157,000 likes on the X platform alone.<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\">\n<p dir=\"ltr\" lang=\"en\">They not like us <a href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/78hducHDUE\">pic.twitter.com\/78hducHDUE<\/a><\/p>\n<p>\u2014 Spencer Pratt (@spencerpratt) <a href=\"https:\/\/x.com\/spencerpratt\/status\/2049497051793412557?\">April 29, 2026<\/a><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p><script async src=\"https:\/\/platform.x.com\/widgets.js\" charset=\"utf-8\"><\/script><\/p>\n<p>Pratt revealed on Tuesday, months after his primary campaign loss, why his advertisements were different from those of most other politicians.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cGuys, I hate to break it to you, but most political advisors are so bafflingly incompetent, it would make your head spin,\u201d Pratt revealed.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAll the talented communicators go work in Hollywood or at Saatchi and Saatchi, and these political bros never tap these agencies for help,\u201d he observed. \u201cI\u2019ve connected several campaigns with literally the best marketing geniuses in the game, got them discounted rates, even\u2026 and they just never even bothered calling.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Pratt even suggested that \u201cit truly feels like a lot of consultants and candidates just want to lose.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cYou ever wonder how my ads went so massively viral, but there\u2019s not been a single candidate who\u2019s come close to it? It\u2019s their [dumb] advisors. I didn\u2019t go with any political advisors, and they were SO mad about it,\u201d he noted.<\/p>\n<p>Instead of turning to the political class for help with his messaging, he used the entertainment industry.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI partnered with a filmmaker and marketing wizard, instead of political grifters. Why? Because I wanted our messaging to be effective. Political ads suck. Nobody watches them. I wanted people to want to watch my ads. The fact that nobody else understands this is\u2026 I honestly don\u2019t know how to explain it, other than they want to lose.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Pratt noted that the poor state of political advertising may speak to a deeper rot in the political system.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThere are a bunch of candidates who love it when their party loses power.
