Joe Hontz, force public affairs officer for U.S. Naval Forces Central Command, U.S. 5th Fleet and Combined Maritime Forces, told the DCNF.<\/p>\n<p class=\"LexicalEditorTheme__paragraph\">Crosetto ordered the Italian Navy to prepare what is necessary to ensure Italian ships can transit the area safely, arguing that bureaucratic delays could directly harm Italy\u2019s economy and its citizens, according to the<a class=\"LexicalEditorTheme__link\" href=\"https:\/\/www.difesa.it\/primopiano\/il-ministro-crosetto-al-forum-risorsa-mare\/112302.html\"> <u><span class=\"LexicalEditorTheme__textUnderline\">Italian Ministry of Defense<\/span><\/u><\/a>.<\/p>\n<p class=\"LexicalEditorTheme__paragraph\">\u201cWhen a maritime route is interrupted, goods arrive late, costs increase and prices rise for families and businesses,\u201d Crosetto said, according to the Italian Ministry of Defense.<\/p>\n<p class=\"LexicalEditorTheme__paragraph\">The Iran-backed Houthis have rapidly expanded their position along Yemen\u2019s Red Sea coastline.
