Gov. Burt Jones,as he seeks an endorsement for the upcoming general election against Democrat Keisha Lance Bottoms. Jackson had previously filed a libel suit and another claim related to campaign fundraising practices but decided to drop both recently. Gov. <a target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/tag\/burt-jones\/\" data-type=\"post_tag\" data-id=\"21409\">Burt Jones<\/a>, as the candidate courts an <a target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/tag\/endorsements\/\" data-type=\"post_tag\" data-id=\"1440\">endorsement<\/a> in the race to the <a target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/tag\/2026-election\/\" data-type=\"post_tag\" data-id=\"11675\">general election<\/a> against Democrat Keisha Lance Bottoms.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Jackson filed two lawsuits against Jones in the bruising primary battle that ultimately ended in Jackson winning a runoff election.
