Trump, the swamp-drainer-in-chief, faced <a href=\"https:\/\/www.pbs.org\/newshour\/politics\/read-the-full-trump-indictment-on-mishandling-of-classified-documents\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">40 federal charges<\/a> in a political witch hunt; Biden, the \u201c<a href=\"https:\/\/thehill.com\/homenews\/administration\/4456879-special-counsel-describes-biden-as-elderly-man-with-a-poor-memory-in-eye-raising-report\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">sympathetic, well-meaning elderly man,\u201d<\/a> got a pass. <\/p>\n<p>Now, newly released photographic evidence from the FBI\u2019s search of the Biden Center and the autopen president\u2019s Wilmington, Delaware, residence confirm the \u201ckid-glove treatment\u201d the 46th president received compared to the raid-and-rifle approach agents took to Trump\u2019s south Florida estate. <\/p>\n<p>The photos, exclusively provided to The Federalist, were obtained through hard-fought litigation by the <a href=\"https:\/\/itsyourgov.org\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Oversight Project<\/a>, the government watchdog that won release of <a href=\"https:\/\/itsyourgov.org\/press\/oversight-project-releases-recordings-of-biden-interviews-with-ghostwriter\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">audio recordings<\/a> of Biden chatting with his ghostwriter about the classified records the 46th president had squirreled away. As in the famous tapes, the government fought for years to keep the photos out of the public eye. <\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe Oversight Project is a dog on the bone,\u201d said <a href=\"https:\/\/x.com\/MHowellTweets\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Mike Howell,<\/a> president of the government corruption fighter. \u201cWhat Biden did to this country was awful and so many people in positions of authority looked the other way or gave him amnesty for blatant abuse of our laws.\u201d<\/p>\n<h2>\u2018Two Completely Different Postures\u2019<\/h2>\n<p>Last week, Vanessa Brinkmann, Department of Justice Senior Counsel of Information Policy, authorized the release of more than 70 FBI photos of the documents agents gently organized. Some of the images are partially or completely redacted, but many show what Biden was hoarding at the <a href=\"https:\/\/onthinktanks.org\/think-tank\/the-penn-biden-center-for-diplomacy-and-global-engagement\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Biden Center for Diplomacy and Global Engagement<\/a> in Washington, D.C. and in boxes and a drawer at the former president\u2019s Wilmington home. <\/p>\n<p>The images preserve an array of files and binders filled with some intriguing, and apparently sensitive, information that Biden is accused of mishandling, retaining, and sharing. Biden stored files with labels like, \u201cIraq\/Syria \u201914,\u201d \u201cForeign Policy,\u201d \u201cObama Doctrine \u2014 Atlantic,\u201d and\u00a0 \u201cBiden Found Ben Harris,\u201d presumably in reference to the former president\u2019s chief economist at the Treasury Department and a key official at the now-defunct Biden Foundation. Harris was <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nytimes.com\/2020\/11\/02\/business\/biden-economist.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">dubbed<\/a> by The New York Times as \u201cThe Quiet Architect of Biden\u2019s Plan to Rescue the Economy.\u201d <\/p>\n<p>Biden, according to the photos, also saved \u201cGmail Backup Codes,\u201d \u201cJ.R.B. Facebook\u201d files, and another folder titled, \u201cSchumer DACA.\u201d<\/p>\n<figure><\/figure>\n<p>Source: The Oversight Project <\/p>\n<p>Other files were apparently filled with book chapters, contracts with publishers, and a folder labeled, \u201cZwonitzer Agenda Book Material.\u201d The latter appears to reference <a href=\"https:\/\/thefederalist.com\/2026\/06\/22\/district-court-rules-doj-can-release-joe-bidens-incriminating-interview-tapes\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Mark Zwonitzer,<\/a> the biographer who ghostwrote Biden\u2019s books, <em>Promise Me, Dad<\/em>, and <em>New Beginnings.<\/em> The writer\u2019s interviews with Biden, <a href=\"https:\/\/thefederalist.com\/2026\/06\/22\/district-court-rules-doj-can-release-joe-bidens-incriminating-interview-tapes\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">obtained<\/a> by Project Oversight, were central to Special Prosecutor Robert Hur\u2019s investigation into Biden\u2019s mishandling of classified documents. <\/p>\n<p>What is striking, according to the Oversight Project, is how the photos show the FBI agents handling the classified material with visible care. In several photos, agents are wearing gloves in their kid-glove treatment of the records, which they keep neatly organized, contained, and undisturbed.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cCompare that to Mar-a-Lago [Trump\u2019s home], where agents dumped documents across the floor for cameras to capture \u2014 images that were leaked and blasted across every front page within days, priming the public to see Trump as guilty before a single charge was filed,\u201d the watchdog said in a statement to The Federalist. \u201cTwo completely different postures \u2014 one designed to protect a reputation, the other to destroy one.\u201d<\/p>\n<figure><\/figure>\n<p>Source: The Oversight Project<\/p>\n<h2>\u2018Manufactured the Visual Impression\u2019<\/h2>\n<p>This is what weaponization looks like. <\/p>\n<p>As FBI agents warned the Biden Department of Justice\u2019s goon squad that they didn\u2019t have probable cause for a search warrant to root through then-former President Donald Trump\u2019s Florida residence, Assistant Attorney General George Toscas reportedly <a href=\"https:\/\/thefederalist.com\/2025\/12\/16\/docs-fbi-believed-it-lacked-probable-cause-to-raid-mar-a-lago-but-it-did-so-anyway\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">said<\/a> he didn\u2019t \u201cgive a damn about the optics.\u201d Cooler heads at the FBI advised that if top brass wanted to go through with the search of Mar-A-Lago, at least they should execute the warrant in \u201ca professional, low-key manner.\u201d <\/p>\n<p>\u201cI understand that this request may not go well at DOJ, however, it is FBI serving and executing the search and it will be our personnel who will have to deal with the reaction to that first contact,\u201d states an Aug. 4, 2022 email from the unidentified agent according <a href=\"https:\/\/www.grassley.senate.gov\/imo\/media\/doc\/fbi_production_to_chairman_grassley_-_mal_search.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">records<\/a> uncovered late last year by Sen. Chuck Grassley, chairman of the Senate Judiciary Committee. <\/p>\n<p>Weaponization won. <\/p>\n<p>The FBI <a href=\"https:\/\/thefederalist.com\/2024\/08\/12\/trump-slated-to-sue-doj-over-unprecedented-mar-a-lago-raid\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">raided<\/a> Mar-a-Lago on August 8, 2022. They did so in anything but a \u201cprofessional low-key manner.\u201d The raid was very public and very political. Attorney General Merrick Garland, Biden\u2019s attack dog, made sure of that. <\/p>\n<p>More than 30 plain clothes agents from the FBI\u2019s Washington Field Office and the Southern District of Florida swarmed the residence, grabbing up private materials in the search of Trump\u2019s White House files. With red and blue lights flashing, agents spent nine hours combing through each of the sprawling compound\u2019s 126 rooms \u2014 including the Versailles Master Bedroom that Melania Trump had renovated two years before, The New York Post\u2019s Miranda Devine <a href=\"https:\/\/nypost.com\/2022\/08\/09\/fbi-even-searched-melanias-wardrobe-in-trump-raid\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">reported <\/a>at the time. The first lady <a href=\"https:\/\/www.yahoo.com\/news\/melania-trump-felt-violated-fbi-111434673.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">reportedly<\/a> said she felt \u201ccontaminated\u201d thinking about the agents \u2014 some of them masked \u2014 possibly rooting through her undergarments. <\/p>\n<p>In the public-relations raid of the left\u2019s political enemy no. 1, federal agents placed classified cover sheets on top of Trump\u2019s documents before snapping photos of them. It was a choice, the Oversight Project asserts. A choice that \u201cmanufactured the visual impression of grave, top-secret material, feeding a media narrative before any legal process had run its course.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>You won\u2019t find the cover sheets in the photos categorizing the evidence found in the FBI search of Biden\u2019s home and office. Both presidents kept classified materials at their properties, so why the disparate treatment? <\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe message the photos send is unmistakable: create the appearance of danger when it\u2019s Trump, but quietly minimize it when it\u2019s Biden,\u201d the Oversight Project asserts. <\/p>\n<h2>\u2018Glaring Double Standard\u2019<\/h2>\n<p>Trump was indicted on 40 felony counts, charges that he willfully retained classified documents and conspired to obstruct justice. The charges were brought by <a href=\"https:\/\/thefederalist.com\/2026\/03\/24\/watch-margot-cleveland-breaks-down-5-ways-jack-smiths-witch-hunt-ripped-up-the-constitution\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">disgraced special counsel Jack Smith<\/a>, then-Attorney General Merrick Garland\u2019s political errand boy who also led the failed J6 prosecution against Trump.\u00a0\u00a0U.S. District Judge Aileen Cannon\u00a0ultimately <a href=\"https:\/\/www.wsj.com\/us-news\/law\/federal-judge-dismisses-classified-documents-prosecution-against-trump-db0cde1b\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">dismissed<\/a> the case because Smith was <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/trump-attorneys-to-argue-jack-smith-was-unlawfully-made-special-counsel\/\" title=\"Trump&#039;s lawyers will contend that Jack Smith&#039;s appointment as special counsel was illegal\">unlawfully appointed special counsel<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>The special prosecutor in Biden\u2019s case, Robert Hur, issued a report stating he would not bring charges. The former Trump-appointee who served as U.S. Attorney for Maryland believed swamp justice would never convict the cognitively diminished Biden. <\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe have also considered that, at trial, Mr. Biden would likely present himself to a jury, as he did during our interview of him, as a sympathetic, well-meaning, elderly man with a poor memory,\u201d Hur wrote.<\/p>\n<p>But the Oversight Project believes the photographic evidence demonstrates that Biden \u201ccommingled the classified information in his desk drawer\u201d for his book notes. <\/p>\n<p>\u201cThis establishes that Biden not only removed classified information from the White House when he left as Vice President <a href=\"https:\/\/www.law.cornell.edu\/uscode\/text\/18\/1924\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">(18 USC 1924)<\/a>, but he did so for the purpose of disclosing that information <a href=\"https:\/\/www.law.cornell.edu\/uscode\/text\/18\/798\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">(18 USC 798)<\/a> to make money,\u201d the government Watchdog said in the statement. <\/p>\n<p>The Oversight Project is calling on the DOJ to reopen its probe to determine whether the government should claw back the millions of dollars Biden raked in for his book because he earned the money thanks to illegally retaining and disclosing classified information. <\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe photographic evidence released today lays bare a glaring double standard in how the Department of Justice and the FBI conduct high-profile investigations,\u201d said Jeff Clark, the Oversight Project\u2019s Vice President of Litigation. Clark himself is a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.justice.gov\/opa\/pr\/justice-department-files-complaint-against-dc-bar-disciplinary-authorities-over-their\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">victim of weaponization.<\/a> <\/p>\n<p>\u201cWhile President Trump was subjected to a public spectacle designed to prejudge his guilt, the Biden handling was managed with kid gloves to protect a reputation,\u201d Clark added. \u201cThe American people expect and deserve equal justice under the law, and we will continue using every legal avenue to ensure transparency and accountability.\u201d<\/p>\n<hr>\n<p>      Matt Kittle is a senior elections correspondent for The Federalist.
