Exactly three years later to the day on Jan. 24, 2023, Clancy did virtually the exact same thing.<\/p>\n<p>Except whereas Clancy strangled her children using exercise bands, Morley smothered her three children with plastic bags and tape, according to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.irishtimes.com\/news\/crime-and-law\/courts\/criminal-court\/mother-tried-to-sedate-three-children-on-night-before-she-killed-them-court-told-1.4568358\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">The Irish Times<\/a>. She was found lying unconscious outside her home by her husband. Clancy, who was also a nurse, tried committing suicide by <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/op-ed-abortion-pill-american-water-outdated-testing-demands-updated-answers\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">downing some pills<\/a>, cutting her wrists and neck, and jumping out of her home\u2019s second-story window.<\/p>\n<p>McGinley doesn\u2019t appear to agree with those who have alleged a similarity between his wife\u2019s case and Clancy\u2019s case.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt isn\u2019t the same,\u201d he insisted to the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.irishmirror.ie\/news\/irish-news\/andrew-mcginley-lindsay-clancy-ex-37587512\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Irish Mirror<\/a> in a late August interview. \u201cFor me, the little I know of it, it\u2019s not the same. And from what you\u2019ve told me, the diagnosis seems to be different. But obviously every case is different.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Some say he may have had a point. Morley was ultimately found not guilty by reason of insanity on May 20, 2021. After the verdict, McGinley released a statement proclaiming \u201chow much\u201d Morley had \u201cloved\u201d and been \u201cdevoted\u201d to their children.<\/p>\n<p>He also <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/hawley-launches-investigation-flock-surveillance-concerns\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">demanded an investigation<\/a> into Morley\u2019s diagnosis, treatment, and medication regiment. Although her ex-husband, Patrick Clancy, has moved on and remarried, he supported and testified for Clancy\u2019s defense during the trial.<\/p>\n<p>McGinley told the Irish Mirror that he emphasized with Clancy and her ex-husband.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI empathize with them both in that people are choosing sides,\u201d he said. \u201cThat\u2019s what happened in our case. But what people need to do is to understand the facts.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The facts were disturbingly clear in the Morley case.
