Gier aims to showcase positive aspects and unexpected acts of service and sacrifice that emerged in the aftermath of the tragedy, countering the often somber portrayal of 9/11. The film features interviews, archival footage, reenactments-including notable scenes like passengers fighting back on Flight 93-and is narrated by actor Gary Sinise, whose life was influenced by the events of 9/11. Gier emphasizes that the film is designed to inspire and uplift viewers, emphasizing themes of community, service, and perseverance. It also promotes awareness of The 9/11 Legacy foundation and stories like the “New York Says Thank You” initiative, which reflects acts of gratitude and rebuilding across the country. The documentary has received multiple awards and is available on various streaming platforms. Gier hopes it will serve as a testament to the extraordinary acts of ordinary people and inspire a sense of hope and national pride.

Twenty-five years after Sept. 11, 2001, Americans still remember where they were, what they saw, and how they felt as the nation was suddenly under attack.
