The party claimed Tupone&#8217;s candidacy was meant to siphon votes from Democratic candidate Bob Brooks, thereby serving as a &#8220;spoiler.&#8221; Tupone, who had recently changed his registration to the Green party after briefly switching to Democrat, plans to appeal the ruling to the Pennsylvania Supreme Court. He maintains that his political positions remain consistent and criticizes the establishment parties, asserting he was trying to challenge both major parties. Tsai granted the objection of the Green Party of Pennsylvania. The party argued Tupone misled voters into believing he was a Green Party-backed candidate, saying many voters who signed his petition to appear on the ballot would not have done so if they had known he was not supported by the party.
