Karl Marx and Friedrich Engels paved the way for their contempt by writing <a href=\"https:\/\/archive.org\/details\/communistmanifestomarxengels\/mode\/2up?q=%2522idiocy+of+rural+life%2522\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">in <\/a><em><a href=\"https:\/\/archive.org\/details\/communistmanifestomarxengels\/mode\/2up?q=%2522idiocy+of+rural+life%2522\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">The Communist Manifesto<\/a><\/em>  that the migration from small communities to large urban centers has \u201crescued a considerable part of the population from the idiocy of rural life.\u201d Nearly 200 years later, it seems there is a migration in reverse, with elites invading the hinterlands to \u201crescue\u201d rural folk from their continued idiocy.<\/p>\n<p>One case in point is the recent episode at Wydaho Roasters, a coffee shop in <a href=\"https:\/\/archive.voteidaho.gov\/results\/2024\/general\/presidential.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">deep-red Idaho<\/a>, owned by a pro-abortion couple from <a href=\"https:\/\/city-stats.com\/minnesota\/counties\/ramsey-county\/elections\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">deep-blue<\/a> <a href=\"https:\/\/www.jhnewsandguide.com\/valley\/people\/closeup\/brewing-up-community\/article_410c0ec3-d64b-4d85-8673-fd7e2ef6bbe0.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">St. Paul, Minnesota<\/a>, Jim and Mary Sheehan. Jim Sheehan has said his coffee house welcomes everyone. But in mid-August, when a pro-life group met there to quietly discuss how to defeat Idaho\u2019s <a href=\"https:\/\/ballotpedia.org\/Idaho_Proposition_1,_Reproductive_Freedom_and_Privacy_Act_Initiative_(2026)\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Proposition 1<\/a>, a referendum that would allow abortions up to 24 weeks gestation, when babies are over a foot long and can survive outside the womb, Sheehan kicked them out. Kristan Hawkins, leader of the group of more than a dozen pro-lifers, posted a <a href=\"https:\/\/x.com\/KristanHawkins\/status\/2089548119122092378\">video<\/a> of the incident:<\/p>\n<figure>\n<p><span><\/p>\n<blockquote data-width=\"500\" data-dnt=\"true\">\n<div lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">\n<p>Wydaho Roasters Coffee House just kicked out our<a href=\"https:\/\/x.com\/Campaign4AFC?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">@Campaign4AFC<\/a> group, led by my 16-year-old son, Bear. They compared US to the KKK\u2026 even though Planned Parenthood\u2019s founder, Margaret Sanger, spoke for the KKK.  <\/p>\n<p>We paid for our food. Wydaho Roasters is located in the town of Driggs, Idaho, in the Teton Valley. National Geographic has <a href=\"https:\/\/web.archive.org\/web\/20010718133639\/http:\/www.nationalgeographic.com\/adventure\/0107\/trips_1.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">rated<\/a> Driggs as a top recreation location in America, which makes it a Mecca for white, affluent leftists. If you <a href=\"https:\/\/portal.laserfiche.com\/Portal\/DocView.aspx?id=39411&#038;repo=r-e076e25b\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">study<\/a> the <a href=\"https:\/\/portal.laserfiche.com\/Portal\/DocView.aspx?id=163893&#038;repo=r-e076e25b\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">voting patterns<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/data.census.gov\/profile\/Driggs_city,_Idaho?g=160XX00US1622690#populations-and-people\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">census<\/a> information of Driggs, it\u2019s clear the town has been overrun by leftists over the past 20 years.<\/p>\n<h2><strong>Democrats Aim to Control Local Governments in Conservative Places<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p>Another example of leftist scorn for rural folks is the case of a camouflaged liberal in conservative Shenandoah County, Virginia, just 90 minutes west of Washington, D.C. He ran as an \u201cindependent\u201d candidate for the county board of supervisors in 2019 and <a href=\"https:\/\/historical.elections.virginia.gov\/contest\/135591\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">lost by a close margin<\/a> to a Republican. Below is part of his Facebook response (since deleted but at least partially <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/wp-content\/uploads\/\/2026\/09\/localimages\/image.jpg\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">preserved in a screenshot<\/a>) to Shenandoah County Democrats, who supported him and thanked him for running:<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p>The outward push from the metropolis near us is inevitable and unstoppable. The \u201cdeplorables\u201d in our county know this \u2026 and they hate it \u2026 but in our lifetime \u2026 they will be politically outnumbered. You and our collective group of educated, intelligent, economically successful friends who already live here are sort of the \u201cpioneers\u201d in advance of this imminent movement \u2026 until the main force arrives. <\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>And why are they choosing such rural areas to buy homes, weekend getaways, and retirement havens? He explained: <\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p>People like you and me who currently live in and around NOVA [Northern Viginia suburbs of Washington, D.C.] want to be here \u2026 they want nice homes they can afford in this spectacular geography \u2026 where they can still easily get back to their favorite stores and restaurants in the city when they want to. <\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>Indeed, the geography is spectacular in the Shenandoah Valley locale of Shenandoah County, Virginia, just as it is in the Teton Valley locale of Teton County, Idaho. Democrats love the pastoral and mountain views of rural areas, even though they detest the \u201cdeplorables\u201d who live there. As they buy up the affordable real estate, they make those nice homes less affordable for the locals. <\/p>\n<p>It\u2019s a depressing look at a manipulative mindset. But it\u2019s useful to have it laid out clearly in such hot-mic moments. <\/p>\n<h2><strong>The Left\u2019s Supremacist Attitude Is Nothing New <\/strong><\/h2>\n<p>Democrats certainly have a messaging problem in small town and rural America. They can\u2019t seem to hide their contempt, though they may try at times. But the left is very organized, and their outward contempt will not cost them in the midterms if conservatives in those areas do not show up to vote. This is especially true in local elections where turnout is notoriously <a href=\"https:\/\/factually.co\/fact-checks\/politics\/average-american-turnout-local-elections-f89f25\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">low<\/a>. Low conservative turnout is the low-hanging fruit that allows Democrat invaders to take over red areas. According to Ballotpedia, there are many such <a href=\"https:\/\/ballotpedia.org\/United_States_municipal_elections,_2026#Battlegrounds\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">battlegrounds for municipal elections<\/a> this year, particularly in Texas.<\/p>\n<p>Keep in mind that these Democrat elites, who are overwhelmingly white, are not the only ones involved in the leftward push toward the meaninglessness of elections and the erasure of American ideals. Most recently, they are joined by pseudo-conservatives such as Supreme Court Chief Justice John Roberts and Justice Amy Coney Barrett, whose recent decisions for <a href=\"https:\/\/www.newsweek.com\/amy-coney-barrett-under-fire-siding-biden-border-1863000\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">open borders<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/thehill.com\/regulation\/court-battles\/5947745-birthright-citizenship-decision-scotus\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">birthplace citizenship<\/a>, and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.scotusblog.com\/2026\/06\/justices-uphold-state-law-allowing-for-late-arriving-mail-in-ballots\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">counting votes after Election Day<\/a> will help Democrats win in rural areas as well as in the cities. <\/p>\n<p>Also joining them is a cadre of blatantly anti-American communists running for Congress, led in part by New York Mayor Zohran Mamdani, jihadists like Michigan Senate candidate Abdul El-Sayed, affluent white suburban leftist women, white beta males who perhaps adjust their political opinions with the hopes of getting laid by the former, and high school and college students who are indoctrinated and peer-pressured to fall in line with all of the above. Due to low conservative voter turnout, a motley mix of invaders and useful idiots ends up at the controls.<\/p>\n<p>So the cat is out of the bag in terms of Democrats\u2019 intentions to build a one-party state in America and to silence rural voters permanently. Ultimately, they are not interested in giving conservatives a scrap of representation in Congress or statehouses, or even on county boards and town councils. They\u2019ve been following the cues of Hillary Clinton, who labeled middle America \u201cdeplorables\u201d; of President Obama, who called them \u201cbitter clingers\u201d to guns and religion; and of President Joe Biden, who essentially called them \u201cgarbage\u201d and fascists. <\/p>\n<p>The expressions of contempt don\u2019t end there. The New York Times\u2019 Paul <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nytimes.com\/2023\/01\/26\/opinion\/rural-voters-economy.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Krugman warned about it<\/a>. A Berkeley <a href=\"https:\/\/www.foxnews.com\/us\/uc-berkeley-instructor-rural-americans-bad-people\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">instructor wrote<\/a> that rural folks are \u201cbad people\u201d who deserve to live \u201cuncomfortabl[y].\u201d In a since-deleted tweet, he added that \u201cwe should shame people who aren\u2019t pro-city.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>It seems there\u2019s no end to the leftist craving for the polarization that\u2019s tearing the country apart. For a case study in such things nationwide, see the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.documentcloud.org\/documents\/28063777-splcindictment042126\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Southern Poverty Law Center\u2019s ignominious<\/a> <a href=\"https:\/\/www.documentcloud.org\/documents\/28063777-splcindictment042126\/\">fall<\/a> from glory via its funding of racist groups to prop up its false picture of racist bogeymen everywhere, particularly in small towns and rural America.<\/p>\n<p>But, in general, as long as Democrats insist on clinging to transgenderism, DEI, gun grabs, abortion at nine months (<a href=\"https:\/\/apnews.com\/article\/lindsay-clancy-postpartum-supporters-murder-trial-9ae86dc05b44c78722a47915320e0606\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">and beyond?<\/a>), promoting Hamas terrorists, and defunding the police, well, they\u2019re singing way out of key in rural America.<\/p>\n<p>Democrats might have a messaging problem, but they also have a ground game to render rural America irrelevant in elections. Their strategy involves a lot of propaganda and a lot of organizing, especially in down-ballot races where low conservative turnout can be overcome by motivated leftists, <a href=\"https:\/\/x.com\/ZitoSalena\/status\/2091694724771987895\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">as just happened<\/a> in Trump-supporting Butler, Pennsylvania. <\/p>\n<p>That\u2019s where we are.
