The language moving the deadline for the ban to take effect from Nov. 11 to Dec. 12 was passed through the Senate and just passed the House on Tuesday.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The issue <a target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/news\/senate\/4671780\/barr-craig-hemp-ban-bill\/\">crosses partisan lines<\/a>, as key players from both parties have both spoken up in support of the hemp ban and against it.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Rep. Andy Harris (R-MD) has been one of the <a target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/news\/house\/4708090\/democrats-help-mike-johnson-pass-stopgap-funding-bill\/\">most vocal members <\/a>of the House this week, speaking against the extension of the hemp ban, saying the current hemp loophole allows for young children to access intoxicating products in accessible spaces such as gas stations.<\/p>\n<div class=\"wex-inarticle-ad wex-inarticle-ad-art-dsk-inart-2\">\n<div class=\"wex-ad-wrap wex-ad-art-dsk-inart-2\" style=\"min-height:90px\"><span class=\"wex-ad-label\" hidden>Advertisement<\/span><\/p>\n<div id=\"div-gpt-ad-3182201-16\" data-wex-ad=\"art-dsk-inart-2\"><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cDangerous \u2018gas station weed\u2019 is being sold in convenience stores across the country \u2014 and some products can contain even more THC than marijuana,\u201d Harris said in a <a target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" href=\"https:\/\/x.com\/RepAndyHarrisMD\/status\/2094842999389778427?s=20\">statement<\/a> on Tuesday. \u201cA loophole in the 2018 Farm Bill allowed these unregulated products to flood the market.
