These removals, ordered by the Democrat-led government, included statues of General Thomas \u201cStonewall\u201d Jackson, Governor William \u201cExtra Billy\u201d Smith, and Doctor Hunter Holmes McGuire. The Jackson statue, dating back to 1875, has a complex history and was portrayed in media as a defender of slavery, though evidence suggests Jackson\u2019s views and actions on slavery and race where nuanced. Similarly, McGuire, a wartime surgeon honored for humanitarian contributions, was also removed, despite his role in advancing principles later incorporated into the Geneva Convention. critics argue that these actions reflect a broader cultural revolution aimed at rewriting American history, motivated by a partisan agenda ahead of midterm elections. The statues are now stored with the Shenandoah Valley Battlefields Foundation, which will decide their future, emphasizing preservation and the idea that history can serve as a source of unity. The article suggests these moves are part of a larger pattern of cultural upheaval and political strategy.  <\/p>\n<p class=\"readmore\">\n    <button onclick=\"showReadMore()\" id=\"readmorebtn\">Read more&#8230;<\/button>\n<\/p>\n<hr id=\"line\">\n<span id=\"more\"><\/p>\n<div>\n<p>Democrats in Virginia removed the last three remaining Confederate statues from Richmond\u2019s Capitol Square on Friday in a move proving left-wing forces have not relented in their war on American culture and heritage.<\/p>\n<p>The scene in Richmond was far from the \u201cWoke 1\u201d <a href=\"https:\/\/thefederalist.com\/2026\/08\/11\/aocs-woke-1-comment-reveals-the-left-is-planning-to-make-woke-2-even-worse\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">distinction<\/a> Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, D-N.Y., made in an attempt to brush off the crazed rioting and censorship of the early 2020s, which included the toppling of numerous statues, many of which were not Confederate. Rather, the Soviet-style revisionism tracks more closely with the campaign of Gov. Abigail Spanberger, D-Va. \u2014 a self-proclaimed moderate who lied to the electorate to obtain power, only to usher in the most abusive government Virginia has ever seen.<\/p>\n<p>It is a playbook that countless Democrats across the country will repeat, but as per the cultural revolutionary blueprint, these statue removals are once again only the beginning of a broader offensive against the American people.<\/p>\n<p>The statues of Gen. Thomas \u201cStonewall\u201d Jackson, Gov. William \u201cExtra Billy\u201d Smith, and Doctor Hunter Holmes McGuire were <a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonpost.com\/dc-md-va\/2026\/08\/28\/three-remaining-confederate-statues-removed-virginias-capitol\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">torn down<\/a> Friday after Virginia\u2019s Democrat-led government passed a budget mandating the removal in June.<\/p>\n<figure><\/figure>\n<p>The Jackson statue was the oldest of the three, having been cast in 1875, but was planned before the Civil War ended. English admirers of the general <a href=\"https:\/\/www.acwrt.org.uk\/post\/general-jackson-s-statue\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">put together the funds<\/a> shortly after his death, when he succumbed to pneumonia after being shot at Chancellorsville in 1863.<\/p>\n<p>Corporate media outlets like The Washington Post claim Jackson was a \u201clifelong defender of slavery,\u201d but like his contemporary Gen. Robert E. Lee, who famously <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nps.gov\/arho\/learn\/historyculture\/robert-e-lee-and-slavery.htm\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">called<\/a> the institution \u201ca moral and political evil,\u201d Jackson\u2019s view seems to be more complicated as well.<\/p>\n<p>Jackson <a href=\"https:\/\/acwm.org\/blog\/myths-misunderstandings-stonewall-jacksons-sunday-school\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">ran<\/a> a Sunday school for enslaved and free black students, focused on teaching the Bible and \u201cencourag[ing] literacy among his students,\u201d likely running afoul of state law. According to Jackson\u2019s <a href=\"https:\/\/erenow.org\/biographies\/rebelyellstonewalljackson\/16.php\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">wife<\/a> Anna, \u201cHis interest in that race was simply because they had souls to save.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Some of Jackson\u2019s slaves were also acquired under unique circumstances, like his first one Albert, who asked Jackson to purchase him so that he could work to afford his freedom, <a href=\"https:\/\/erenow.org\/biographies\/rebelyellstonewalljackson\/16.php\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">according<\/a> to author S.C. Gwynne. His second slave, Amy, also asked Jackson to buy her, and after becoming ill, the Jackson family cared for her. Another slave was an orphaned girl with a learning disability.<\/p>\n<p>Democrats interested primarily in degradation cannot be bothered with those details, because the toppling of the statues, in and of itself, is the win.<\/p>\n<p>McGuire, whose statue was built in 1904, was a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.foxnews.com\/opinion\/david-marcus-woke-virginia-tears-down-statue-geneva-convention-pioneer\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">wartime surgeon<\/a>, and while he was unable to save Jackson\u2019s life, he did save the lives of many others. According to David Marcus, writing in Fox News, McGuire can be credited with many humanitarian wartime principles expressed in the Geneva Convention, including treating doctors rendering aid to soldiers as noncombatants and releasing prisoner-of-war doctors.<\/p>\n<p>He did this under Jackson\u2019s command, and the <a href=\"https:\/\/academic.oup.com\/milmed\/article\/158\/11\/689\/4844410\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Winchester Accord<\/a> was later included in the Geneva Convention.<\/p>\n<p>Democrat state Sen. Mike Jones <a href=\"https:\/\/www.wavy.com\/news\/watch-three-confederate-statues-being-removed-from-richmonds-capitol-square\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">said<\/a> that the statues require removal because he saw \u201cwhite only, colored only pictures in my mother\u2019s scrapbook.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cPut \u2019em in a museum, put a greater historical context around them,\u201d he added. But decisions to remove the states are made by people who have no concept of history at all, as evidenced especially in the removal of McGuire.<\/p>\n<p>With the upcoming midterms setting up to be rocky for Republicans, and a nascent communist movement sweeping certain parts of the country with successful Democratic Socialists of America (DSA) candidates, it appears Democrats feel an opportunity to advance.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe more powerful enemy can be vanquished only by exerting the utmost effort, and by the most thorough, careful, attentive, skilful and obligatory use of any, even the smallest, rift between the enemies \u2026 and also by taking advantage of any, even the smallest, opportunity of winning a mass ally, even though this ally is temporary, vacillating, unstable, unreliable and conditional,\u201d Vladimir Lenin <a href=\"https:\/\/www.cpusa.org\/party_info\/excerpts-from-the-classics-theory-of-the-struggle-for-progress-and-socialism\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">wrote<\/a> in <em>\u201cLeft-Wing\u201d Communism: An Infantile Disorder<\/em>.<\/p>\n<p>The riots, grooming, and race wars are sure to follow.<\/p>\n<p>The only silver lining of the removals is that they will not face the same <a href=\"https:\/\/thefederalist.com\/2025\/10\/23\/left-wing-cultural-revolutionaries-are-decapitating-statues-and-calling-it-art\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">fate<\/a> as the Lee and Jackson statues removed from Charlottesville in 2017, the former of which was melted and destroyed, and the latter of which was defiled and contorted into some kind of demonic chimera in Los Angeles.<\/p>\n<p>The statues removed from Richmond have been given to the Shenandoah Valley Battlefields Foundation, which will ultimately decide what to do with them.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cPreservation is more about the future than the past, and ensuring the preservation of the Capitol Square monuments is a part of that clear vision,\u201d Keven Walker, the group\u2019s CEO, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.wtvr.com\/news\/local-news\/richmond\/last-confederate-monument-removed-irginia-capitol-square-aug-30-2026\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">said<\/a> in a statement. \u201cAt the core of all we do is the belief that our shared history can unite the people of our nation; that there is strength and inspiration for our own times to be found in the struggles of the past.\u201d<\/p>\n<hr>\n<p>      Breccan F.
