He dismisses concerns about mass migration as a \u201cfake problem,\u201d suggesting that illegal aliens are less likely to commit crimes than americans, a claim challenged by critics pointing out the lack of reliable crime statistics due to political reasons. Murphy attributes recent issues, such as increased strain on schools and public services, to the biden administration\u2019s immigration policies during the past few years, which led to influxes of asylum seekers and immigrant families, impacting cities like New York. He dismisses the dangers associated with mass migration, including cultural and national security risks, emphasizing that assimilation is hindered by the diversity of cultures and languages. Murphy also hinted that if Democrats regain power,they would reform immigration enforcement agencies like ICE. Murphy\u2019s stance minimizes the concerns about illegal immigration, portraying them as \u201cfake\u201d problems, which contrasts with widespread public apprehension about border security and national cohesion. The article criticizes Murphy and Democrats for ignoring the real issues posed by mass migration, arguing that their policies threaten American safety, culture, and sovereignty.  <\/p>\n<p class=\"readmore\">\n    <button onclick=\"showReadMore()\" id=\"readmorebtn\">Read more&#8230;<\/button>\n<\/p>\n<hr id=\"line\">\n<span id=\"more\"><\/p>\n<div>\n<p>Sen. Chris Murphy, D-Conn., thinks the problem Democrats had with immigration was not that they allowed millions of illegals to invade the country, but rather that Democrats\u2019 simply failed to explain to Americans that they should be grateful for living with illegal aliens who apparently make communities safer.<\/p>\n<p>During an interview with the CT Mirror, Murphy claimed that President Donald Trump was trying to solve a \u201cfake problem\u201d of mass migration being a threat to the American people.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe problem, according to the Trump administration, is a country that has been invaded, a country that is at risk physically because of the presence of people from other countries,\u201d Murphy said. \u201cThat is a fake problem. That is not a real problem.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Murphy then cited unnamed sources purportedly showing illegal aliens \u2014 who by definition have committed a crime by being here illegally \u2014 are actually less likely to be criminals than Americans.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cNobody likes to hear this, but immigrants, first generation immigrants and undocumented immigrants both commit crimes at rates lower than natural-born Americans, than people that are born here in this country,\u201d Murphy said. \u201cSo if you want to live in a safe community, you are actually better off living in a community with people that just got to the United States of America. And so we\u2019re not seeking to solve \u2018a problem\u2019 of migrant crime.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>This answer makes a lot of sense if you understand that Democrats have learned absolutely nothing after the 2024 presidential election.<\/p>\n<p>For four years the Biden administration facilitated a mass illegal alien invasion. Democrat cities and states became filled with Third World foreigners. Hotels were turned into migrant shelters, American students were sent home for <a href=\"https:\/\/nypost.com\/2024\/01\/10\/metro\/floyd-bennett-madison-remote-after-students-booted-for-migrants\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">remote<\/a> learning so that illegal aliens could sleep in public schools, and taxpayers were forced to feed, clothe, shelter, and protect millions of illegal aliens who had no right to be here.<\/p>\n<p>A September 2025 report by <a href=\"https:\/\/documentedny.com\/2025\/09\/29\/english-learners-new-york-public-schools-immigrant\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Documented<\/a> found that over three years, more than 220,000 \u201casylum seekers and immigrant families\u201d came to New York City, and \u201cmany\u201d have \u201cschool-aged children.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cCitywide, more than 13,000 new English Language Learners entered the public school system between the 2022 and 2023 academic years,\u201d according to Documented, which added that NYC public schools were \u201cinundated\u201d with students who can\u2019t speak English. <\/p>\n<p>The country watched as Laken Riley\u2019s mother collapsed to the ground upon hearing her daughter had been murdered by an illegal alien let into the country by President Joe Biden. They watched Jocelyn Nungaray\u2019s mother weep  after Nungaray was brutally raped and murdered by illegal aliens let in by Biden. <\/p>\n<p>None of this was \u201cfake\u201d or created by Trump, which is why immigration was perhaps the defining issue of the 2024 election cycle. One <a href=\"https:\/\/www.pewresearch.org\/politics\/2024\/09\/09\/issues-and-the-2024-election\/?utm_source=chatgpt.com\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Pew Research poll<\/a> found 61 percent of voters thought immigration was \u201cvery important\u201d to their decision, a 13-point increase from 2022.<\/p>\n<p>But Murphy\u2019s message to these voters is that the problem was actually never real to begin with and, in fact, Americans should be grateful Democrats dumped millions of Third Worlders here because now we are apparently safer! Of course that\u2019s not true, which is why Murphy came up with the ridiculous crime argument to sidestep the greater issue, which is that even if we accept Murphy\u2019s bogus claim that immigrants (whether legal or illegal) are safer for Americans to live amongst than actual Americans (notably, Former Assistant Attorney General and former White House deputy assistant for domestic policy Theo Wold told <a href=\"https:\/\/www.foxnews.com\/media\/senator-chris-murphy-calls-idea-mass-immigration-putting-us-risk-fake-problem\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Fox News<\/a> \u201cThere are no reliable statistics showing that illegal immigrants commit fewer crimes \u2014 and Democrats are the reason. They have blocked efforts to record and report illegal immigrant crime for decades so they can spout pseudo-statistics like these, made up out of whole cloth\u201d), it doesn\u2019t justify allowing millions of illegal aliens to invade the country and stay here indefinitely.<\/p>\n<p>Immigration isn\u2019t <em>just<\/em> a crime issue. It\u2019s an issue about the strain on schools, hospitals, housing markets, and resources and most importantly, it\u2019s about national unity and cohesion. Despite Murphy\u2019s insistence that Trump was creating a \u201cfake\u201d problem, having millions of foreigners is extremely dangerous to the country.<\/p>\n<p>As I\u2019ve previously <a href=\"https:\/\/thefederalist.com\/2025\/04\/11\/trump-and-noems-suggestion-to-illegal-aliens-sends-the-wrong-message\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">written<\/a>, mass migration \u201cis a cultural wrecking ball.\u201d Assimilation to the degree necessary to preserve America is impossible with mass migration, whether legal or illegal. In fact, such mass migration is a threat to our safety \u2014 despite Murphy\u2019s insistence that illegal aliens and Third World foreigners somehow make Americans more safe.<\/p>\n<p>Alexander Hamilton <a href=\"https:\/\/founders.archives.gov\/documents\/Hamilton\/01-25-02-0282\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">warned<\/a> in 1802, \u201cThe safety of a republic depends essentially on the energy of a common National sentiment; on a uniformity of principles and habits; on the exemption of the citizens from foreign bias, and prejudice; and on that love of country which will almost invariably be found to be closely connected with birth, education and family.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>But there is no national sentiment or uniformity when we are importing millions of Third World foreigners from different languages, cultures, and religions, all things which inhibit their ability to truly assimilate to us.<\/p>\n<p>But to Murphy, all of this is a \u201cfake\u201d problem. <\/p>\n<p>Murphy later gave a preview of what Democrats would do if they regain power, saying that we need to \u201ctear down ICE and rebuild it\u201d adding that \u201cthis version of ICE should not remain or come back if Democrats control the presidency or Congress.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Any moment of clarity post 2024 is gone for Democrats. While the party tried to pretend like it acknowledged the radicalism and problems of their Biden-era immigration policies, Murphy just implicitly acknowledged any messaging by Democrats on border security is a farce. Democrats think Americans\u2019 real and legitimate concerns about mass migration \u2013legal and illegal\u2013 are \u201cfake.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Murphy, like most Democrats, fundamentally just doesn\u2019t think mass illegal migration is wrong. He still thinks enforcing the law is the bigger problem rather than violating the law that is being enforced. If Americans elect Democrats this November they are going to see that the only people who will be targeted are the enforcers of the law rather than the lawbreakers because Democrats just fundamentally do not believe in borders, national sovereignty, or the American people. <\/p>\n<p>Maybe Democrats haven\u2019t learned their lesson on immigration, but hopefully Americans will remember theirs. <\/p>\n<hr>\n<p>      Brianna Lyman is an elections correspondent at The Federalist.
