The <a href=\"https:\/\/amzn.to\/3YuVZYV\" >investigation examined extensive data-including interviews<\/a>,financial records,and communications-and found no wrongdoing by Hobbs or her office. The inquiry was initiated after reports raised questions about the timing of contributions from Sunshine Residential Homes, a group home operator, and subsequent increases in state payments for foster care services. Hobbs denied any involvement, stating the decision to increase rates was made by the Department of Child Safety based on business needs. State officials emphasized the lack of criminal evidence but acknowledged concerns about transparency in political contributions from state contractors, urging legislative reform for greater transparency. data-id=\"2466\">bribery<\/a> charge over allegations that a state contractor received favorable treatment after making political contributions benefiting Gov. <a target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener Democrat, said her office would decline prosecution following its investigation into Sunshine Residential Homes, a company that operates group homes for <a target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener chats, totaling over one terabyte of data, including more than 100,000 documents, the investigation has not uncovered any evidence of the necessary quid pro quo to support a bribery charge,\u201d paid the company<\/a> to house foster children.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Sunshine had donated to the Arizona Democratic Party before Hobbs\u2019s 2022 gubernatorial election and then to Hobbs following her victory. The company\u2019s founder also donated to Hobbs\u2019s gubernatorial campaign.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">In the same time period, Sunshine had unsuccessfully sought a rate increase and was denied again shortly after Hobbs took office. Arizona DCS later approved an increase in May 2023 that raised the company\u2019s reimbursement from $149 to $195 per bed.
