While this isn\u2019t necessarily non-malleable over a long-enough scale, any study of human biology must <a href=\"https:\/\/ncofnas.com\/p\/a-guide-for-the-hereditarian-revolution\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">recognize this<\/a> instead of intellectuals \u201cinterpret[ing] race and sex disparities as a moral wrong that needs to be corrected.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Whether or not you buy the \u201chereditarian\u201d aspect of Cofnas\u2019 work is irrelevant; suffice it to say that the man has his defenders and his detractors, along with an overwhelming majority of the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/robert-kennedy-jr-again-warns-of-the-authoritarian-surveillance-state-and-coup-to-overcome-world-democracies\/\" title=\"Robert Kennedy Jr. Again Warns of the Authoritarian Surveillance State and Coup to Overcome World Democracies\">human race<\/a> who hasn\u2019t even heard of his work or the evidence he\u2019s produced for it.<\/p>\n<p>The salient points are that, first, he\u2019s an eminent biologist who has held positions at several prestigious universities; second, he\u2019s being scapegoated for pointing out the fact that Arday was a fraud; and third, the only reason he was the first person to point it out is because Arday\u2019s lawyers and the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/cambridge-prof-tweets-white-lives-dont-matter-gets-promoted-two-days-later\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">University of Cambridge<\/a> both actively squelched reports of the fraud by other academics and reporters in the years prior to the scandal breaking into public view last month.<\/p>\n<p>De Sutter and vice-rector Herwig Reynaert acknowledged that this was the reasoning, saying in a statement after Cofnas\u2019 suspension that they take \u201crecent public statements made by a postdoctoral researcher at Ghent University regarding this matter very seriously\u201d and thus took \u201cappropriate action,\u201d per a Thursday <a href=\"https:\/\/www.bbc.com\/news\/articles\/cevmrjd9lj1o\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">BBC<\/a> report.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe attach great importance to academic freedom and to open academic debate, even when views are controversial. However, that freedom is not unlimited,\u201d the statement read.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt goes hand in hand with responsibility and may be restricted in order to protect the rights of others.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Translation: It was more important for Arday to continue a fraudulent academic career and sell a memoir based on those lies than to report objectively on those lies, because it may have theoretically caused harm.<\/p>\n<p>It\u2019s well worth noting that nothing Cofnas revealed was anything that wasn\u2019t already known or couldn\u2019t have been known with just the slightest bit of effort. Arday\u2019s thesis, which even had a grammatical error in its title, was riddled with enough text lifting that putting it through the most rudimentary plagiarism checker would have set off klaxons. If this was done by Cambridge or anyone at the institution, it did not constitute an issue.<\/p>\n<p>His claims about his childhood and his athletic career were also easily checked. Indeed, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nytimes.com\/2026\/08\/15\/world\/europe\/jason-arday-cambridge-hiring-questions.html?smid=nytcore-ios-\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">The New York Times<\/a> reported that the committee which hired Arday included a child psychiatrist with expertise in autism who would have known that his story resembled no case report in modern medical history. Again, no issue.<\/p>\n<p>Arday claimed that numerous threats had been made against his life, including a man with a knife who had confronted him on Cambridge\u2019s campus \u2014 an incident about which he didn\u2019t even bother notifying campus authorities, it\u2019s worth pointing out. (\u201cTo be honest with you, I thought you\u2019d just believe me,\u201d Arday told the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.theguardian.com\/education\/ng-interactive\/2026\/aug\/01\/playbooks-plagiarism-pigs-head-new-claims-surrounding-cambridge-professor-jason-arday\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">U.K. Guardian<\/a> when asked if he had <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/black-cambridge-academic-accused-plagiarism-race-hoaxes-amazing-response-lib-outlet-investigating-stories-thought-just-believe\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">any evidence of these threats<\/a> \u2014 a quote which could sum up his academic career, sadly.)<\/p>\n<p>But now, the people who pointed all of this out are being made the scapegoats. One petition is calling for an inquiry in how the media handled Arday\u2019s dissimulations. Another petition is <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/cambridge-academic-commits-suicide-exposed-fraud-activists-call-ardays-law-limit-free-speech-honest-reporting\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">outright calling for a law<\/a> forbidding more than a certain amount of reporting on any person, ostensibly in the name of protecting the mental health of men like Arday, but more accurately in the name of greater censorship in the United Kingdom, a nation with no shortage of it at present. Antiracist academic grifter <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/ibram-kendi-says-black-academic-plagiarized-work-fabricated-life-story-get-cambridge-position-lynched-media-told-truth\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Ibram X. Kendi<\/a>, meanwhile, is calling Arday\u2019s death a \u201clynching.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>And now we know who they\u2019ll place at the front of the lynch mob: Cofnas. Not for any misdeeds, or anything like that.
