El Sayed has 46% support compared to Rogers&#8217; 39%, with the remaining votes undecided or for other candidates. The poll indicates el Sayed is effectively rallying Democrat voters and may successfully attract moderate voters as well. He leads predominantly in Detroit and surrounding areas,especially on key issues like inflation and the economy. Despite unfavorable views voters disapprove of President Trump but lean towards el Sayed when disapproving of Trump\u2019s performance. Conversely, Rogers maintains a strong lead among Republican voters. There were concerns that he might struggle to consolidate support from moderate Democrats who voted for Rep. He also polls well among Democrats who identify as progressive and those who do not, suggesting he may receive enough moderate votes to win the <a target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/tag\/2026-election\/\" data-type=\"post_tag\" data-id=\"11675\">general election<\/a>. Unsurprisingly, Rogers leads el Sayed 90% to 2% with Republicans.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Rogers has been trying to appeal to independents, saying they have a home with his campaign if they do not identify with el Sayed\u2019s progressive beliefs.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Meanwhile, el Sayed has called Rogers a \u201ccorporate shill and a Donald Trump suck-up.\u201d Rogers, a former congressman, is endorsed by President <a target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/tag\/donald-trump\/\" data-type=\"post_tag\" data-id=\"4\">Donald Trump<\/a>.<\/p>\n<div class=\"wex-inarticle-ad wex-inarticle-ad-art-dsk-inart-2\">\n<div class=\"wex-ad-wrap wex-ad-art-dsk-inart-2\" style=\"min-height:90px\"><span class=\"wex-ad-label\" hidden>Advertisement<\/span><\/p>\n<div id=\"div-gpt-ad-3182201-16\" data-wex-ad=\"art-dsk-inart-2\"><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">El Sayed has the advantage in <a target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/tag\/detroit\/\" data-type=\"post_tag\" data-id=\"1935\">Detroit<\/a> and its surrounding areas, where he leads Rogers 62% to 24%.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Inflation and the economy are considered the most important issues facing Michigan voters. The Democratic nominee has a significant edge over the Republican nominee on those issues, with 47% to 38%.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Despite the Democratic candidate\u2019s promising figures, el Sayed and Rogers are viewed more negatively than positively by most respondents. In the <a target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/tag\/wisconsin\/\" data-type=\"post_tag\" data-id=\"239\">Wisconsin<\/a> governor\u2019s race, for instance, socialist state Rep. <a target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/tag\/francesca-hong\/\" data-type=\"post_tag\" data-id=\"23344\">Francesca Hong<\/a> boasted a large lead in polls for the Democratic nomination until the primary election resulted in a narrow win for Milwaukee County Executive David Crowley.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Median Strategies, one of the pollsters showing a large lead for Hong, <a target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/news\/campaigns\/state\/4690901\/fake-polling-firm-misinformation-francesca-hong-lead-wisconsin-gubernatorial-race\/\" data-type=\"link\" data-id=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/news\/campaigns\/state\/4690901\/fake-polling-firm-misinformation-francesca-hong-lead-wisconsin-gubernatorial-race\/\">admitted<\/a> to fabricating polls for multiple elections. Both candidates are running to replace retiring Sen. Gary Peters (D-MI), who has held the seat for two six-year terms.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Susquehanna Polling &#038; Research surveyed 800 likely voters between Aug. 11 and 17.
