These groups are expanding their opposition efforts beyond California, targeting key early primary states like South Carolina and nevada through advertising and political pressure. While Newsom still makes major policy decisions in California, opponents are leveraging his national ambitions to influence his governance by raising issues related to climate, labor, and buisness regulations. Experts suggest this strategic pressure could serve to shape his political narrative and highlight potential vulnerabilities. The out-of-state campaigns aim to keep national attention on Newsom’s policy record, with some believing it could either bolster his profile or expose weaknesses ahead of a possible presidential bid.His office dismisses these external influences, but with his term ending soon, these efforts may impact his future political trajectory and the themes he emphasizes on a national stage.

Gov.
