Vance last week <a href=\"https:\/\/thefederalist.com\/2026\/08\/13\/vance-orders-fraud-probe-into-doctors-for-concealing-trans-surgeries-should-go-to-prison\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">called<\/a> for the jailing of medical professionals fraudulently using medical billing codes to get insurance to cover the castration and genital mutilation of children claiming to be \u201ctransgender.\u201d But on the other side of that issue are the thousands of young people who were brutally maimed by predator doctors and have little recourse to try to reverse some of the interventions.<\/p>\n<div id=\"fdrlst__b89e9-1634832328\" class=\"d-flex justify-content-center fdrlst__b89e9-paragraph-2 fdrlst__b89e9-entity-placement\">\n<div id=\"div-gpt-ad-1463670073398-0\" class=\"mb-30\"><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The new diagnoses and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.cms.gov\/medicare\/coding-billing\/icd-10-codes\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">codes<\/a> will help provide needed documentation of the harms of transgender procedures and facilitate an avenue of recovery for these young people. The CDC update comes after medical watchdog group Do No Harm helped the CDC establish the codes.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cThe codes we proposed, and the CDC has now released, will significantly enhance and refine patient care to ensure those desisting from gender dysphoria are properly recognized,\u201d said Kurt Miceli, MD, chief medical officer at Do No Harm. \u201cLikewise, giving detransitioners visibility in the medical system will help them get the medical attention they need and open the door for proper coverage and real-world research into the impact of sex-rejecting interventions. For too long our medical system has allowed the plight of detransitioners to be invisible; these new codes will give them light and help them achieve the top-notch care they deserve.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">There has been an \u201cofficial blindness to the very existence of detransitioners,\u201d Do No Harm <a href=\"https:\/\/donoharmmedicine.org\/2026\/08\/13\/why-the-cdcs-new-icd-10-codes-matter-for-detransitioners\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">stated<\/a> in an article addressing the need for medical codes for those who want to try to reverse their injuries. While many of the interventions are <a href=\"https:\/\/thefederalist.com\/2025\/03\/13\/exclusive-linda-mcmahon-meets-with-detransitioners-to-discuss-schools-pushing-gender-transition\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">irreversible<\/a>, like voice changes, fertility, and especially mutilation surgeries, there is a degree to which some can be undone to give the detransitioners something closer to a normal life.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">One of the CDC\u2019s most important new codes will be called \u201cGender Identity Disorder, in remission,\u201d\u00a0and it will allow doctors to keep those records for billing and data collection purposes.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Three other codes under the primary \u201cPersonal History of Sex Reassignment\u201d designation are being added as well, including \u201cPersonal history of <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/abbott-asks-department-of-family-protective-services-to-say-whether-trans-surgeries-for-kids-are-child-abuse\/\" title=\"Abbott Asks Department Of Family Protective Services To Say Whether Trans Surgeries For Kids Are Child Abuse\">social gender transition<\/a>,\u201d\u00a0\u201cPersonal history of medical gender transition,\u201d and\u00a0\u201cPersonal history of surgical gender transition.\u201d Those codes appear to encompass the full chronology of someone who believed the lie that he could change his sex or had a different \u201cgender.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">As The Federalist reported, <a href=\"https:\/\/thefederalist.com\/2026\/08\/11\/colorado-has-been-running-a-state-funded-grooming-and-mutilation-operation-for-years\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">medical professionals<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/thefederalist.com\/2025\/03\/13\/exclusive-linda-mcmahon-meets-with-detransitioners-to-discuss-schools-pushing-gender-transition\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">school staff<\/a> are both responsible for coercing children into believing they are \u201ctransgender\u201d and ultimately pushing them toward medicalization.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The new codes will also help doctors and regulators understand how many people end up regretting transgender interventions after the fact, which is a number many opposed to radical gender ideology have been wanting to see for years \u2014 and which mutilation proponents have been trying to hide.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cWell over 14,000 children have received sex-change treatments in recent years. As they get older, many will realize they have made a mistake and understandably want to go back,\u201d <a href=\"https:\/\/thehill.com\/opinion\/healthcare\/5992273-cdc-adds-detransitioner-codes\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">wrote<\/a> Do No Harm senior fellow Dr. Aida Cerundolo.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The very existence of detransitioners undercuts the narrative the American medical establishment has been attempting to sell with <a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/news\/2581462\/up-for-debate-trump-desantis-and-other-2024-gop-hopefuls-stances-on-transgender-issues\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">claims<\/a> that transition is a panacea-like medical treatment that is entirely beneficial to children confused about their sex.<\/p>\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator\">\n<div class=\"article-author-description fst-italic\">      Breccan F.
