U.S. District Judge Brian Murphy, appointed by President Biden, reversed an administrative stay that prevented the end of TPS for Ethiopia, despite efforts by activists to delay it further. Murphy&#8217;s decision marks him as one of the last judges holding out against ending TPS, although another judge had previously delayed the process for Somalia. The ruling means TPS will be revoked for Ethiopian immigrants, though a related legal challenge filed by activists remains active, as Murphy allowed that case to proceed. The supreme Court&#8217;s June decision clarified that most revocations of TPS are not reviewable by courts,but did leave open the possibility of constitutional challenges.Additionally,the Biden administration continues to face legal battles over other immigration policies,including mandatory detention of illegal immigrants,which are expected to reach the Supreme Court soon.  <\/p>\n<p class=\"readmore\">\n    <button onclick=\"showReadMore()\" id=\"readmorebtn\">Read more&#8230;<\/button>\n<\/p>\n<hr id=\"line\">\n<span id=\"more\"><\/p>\n<article class=\"fn-body\">\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">A federal judge lifted his block on <a href=\"https:\/\/amzn.to\/3YuVZYV\" >ending temporary protected status<\/a> for immigrants from <a target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/tag\/ethiopia\/\" data-type=\"post_tag\" data-id=\"1143\">Ethiopia<\/a> on Tuesday, meaning all of the <a target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/tag\/trump-administration\/\" data-type=\"post_tag\" data-id=\"339\">Trump administration\u2019s<\/a> orders terminating TPS for various countries are now allowed to go into effect after the Supreme Court <a target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/news\/supreme-court\/4604161\/supreme-court-allows-trump-end-tps-haiti-syria\/\" data-type=\"link\" data-id=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/news\/supreme-court\/4604161\/supreme-court-allows-trump-end-tps-haiti-syria\/\">gave the green light<\/a> earlier this summer.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">U.S. District Judge Brian Murphy, an appointee of former President Joe Biden, <a target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" href=\"https:\/\/storage.courtlistener.com\/recap\/gov.uscourts.mad.294783\/gov.uscourts.mad.294783.103.0.pdf\" data-type=\"link\" data-id=\"https:\/\/storage.courtlistener.com\/recap\/gov.uscourts.mad.294783\/gov.uscourts.mad.294783.103.0.pdf\">lifted<\/a> an administrative order that had prevented the <a target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/tag\/department-of-homeland-security\/\" data-type=\"post_tag\" data-id=\"3083\">Department of Homeland Security<\/a> from ending TPS for Ethiopia, denying an effort by activists to delay the end of the status further.
