National Mall. farris was arrested after livestreaming her actions, which included spray-painting graffiti and tampering with the monument\u2019s fountain. The court mandated her to stay away from the memorial, Washington, D.C., and to surrender her passports, restricting her travel. She is moving to Ohio to stay with her daughter while awaiting a preliminary hearing. Prosecutors and Farris\u2019s legal team are contesting her release, citing her high flight risk, lack of ties to D.C., and her prior criminal activity. Farris faces two felony charges-Depredation Against Property of the United States and Destruction of Veterans\u2019 Memorials-which could result in up to 10 years in prison and a $250,000 fine if convicted. Farris turned herself in to authorities in Virginia and previously expressed accountability for her actions via livestream. U.S. Magistrate Judge Matthew J. Sharbaugh ordered Farris to stay away from the World War II memorial and out of Washington, D.C. She appeared to be homeless and living in Washington, D.C., at the time of her arrest. Farris seemed to be <a target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/share\/r\/1KGumeX1Uf\/\">rambling<\/a> incoherently in live-streamed videos she apparently posted during the vandalism.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Farris allegedly confessed to the crime on the <a href=\"https:\/\/amzn.to\/3YuVZYV\" >social media live streams<\/a>, where she mentioned a \u201cfederal wiretap\u201d and \u201cgolf carts with people shooting my house from the vacant property next door in Kentucky.\u201d Farris also urged passersby to send her money through Cash App to a friend to buy \u201cpaint.\u201d<\/p>\n<div class=\"wex-inarticle-ad wex-inarticle-ad-art-dsk-inart-2\">\n<div class=\"wex-ad-wrap wex-ad-art-dsk-inart-2\" style=\"min-height:90px\"><span class=\"wex-ad-label\" hidden>Advertisement<\/span><\/p>\n<div id=\"div-gpt-ad-3182201-16\" data-wex-ad=\"art-dsk-inart-2\"><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Trump on Friday weighed in on the vandalism, saying\u00a0 \u201cTHERE CAN BE NO GREATER INSULT TO THOSE AMERICAN HEROES WHO DIED IN WORLD WAR II,\u201d in <a target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" href=\"https:\/\/truthsocial.com\/@realDonaldTrump\/posts\/117093953604941841\">a post<\/a> to Truth Social.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cWe are on their trail! Indeed, just days before her attack on the Memorial, she was cited for camping on Federal property. Rather than curb her behavior, her criminal activity on federal property escalated.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Pirro\u2019s office charged Farris with two felony counts for the Aug. 13 action: Depredation Against Property of the United States and Destruction of Veterans\u2019 Memorials.
