Harris has indicated she is considering another presidential bid, and her potential candidacy might benefit from South Carolina’s diverse voting base, positioning her as a front-runner early in the race. although Harris has built a national campaign, she faces competition from other Black Democrats like Gov.Wes Moore and Sen. Cory Booker, who currently lack the momentum Harris has. The Democratic Party’s decision to prioritize diversity by making South Carolina the first primary reflects recognizing the importance of Black voters, though Harris’s support among younger and progressive voters faces challenges related to her association with the Biden governance.Endorsements like jim Clyburn’s are influential but may not guarantee widespread support. her prospects depend on her ability to mobilize different voter segments and navigate existing political dynamics.

South Carolina‘s role as the first-in-the-nation primary for the 2028 presidential field could give former Vice President Kamala Harris a boost over other Democrats should she decide to seek the White House for a third time.

The Palmetto State’s heavily African American electorate helped revive former President Joe Biden‘s campaign in 2020 as he struggled to beat back a progressive challenge from Sen.
