Former press secretary Karoline Leavitt rushed to put out the fire, saying the video was posted by a \u201cjunior staffer\u201d who didn\u2019t see the phrase, and sources later told the outlet it was more than likely Harp, as no one else with access to Trump\u2019s account, including Scavino, would be characterized as a \u201cjunior staffer.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">According to the <em>Wall Street Journal<\/em>, Harp was also likely responsible for a <a target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/news\/senate\/4448727\/tim-scott-calls-trump-remove-obama-monkey-video-truth-social\/\" data-type=\"link\" data-id=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/news\/senate\/4448727\/tim-scott-calls-trump-remove-obama-monkey-video-truth-social\/\">video that showed<\/a> former President Barack Obama and former first lady Michelle Obama as apes, as well as an <a target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/news\/white-house\/4526843\/trump-ai-jesus-doctor\/\" data-type=\"link\" data-id=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/news\/white-house\/4526843\/trump-ai-jesus-doctor\/\">AI-generated photo depicting Trump as Jesus<\/a>. The outlet noted that Harp has also been the source of frustration among Trump\u2019s inner circle because she doesn\u2019t share draft posts with anyone else in the administration, including the communications team, and Harp has said she only works for Trump.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Harp has cemented herself as an omnipresent figure in the Trump administration, appearing alongside the president as he travels near and far, at his side on the golf course, and in almost every Oval Office briefing. <em>New York Times<\/em> reporters Maggie Haberman and Jonathan Swan, in their book <em><em>Regime Change: Inside the Imperial Presidency of Donald Trump<\/em><\/em>, said Trump views Harp as one of his most loyal aides and often refers to her as \u201csweetie.\u201d<\/p>\n<div class=\"wex-inarticle-ad wex-inarticle-ad-art-dsk-inart-5\">\n<div class=\"wex-ad-wrap wex-ad-art-dsk-inart-5\" style=\"min-height:90px\"><span class=\"wex-ad-label\" hidden>Advertisement<\/span><\/p>\n<div id=\"div-gpt-ad-3182201-26\" data-wex-ad=\"art-dsk-inart-5\"><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The pair have a relationship some outlets have likened to that of a father and daughter, but according to Haberman and Swan, Harp sent a series of letters to Trump in 2023 while working on his campaign that appeared deeply affectionate.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">In her letters, Harp told Trump he is \u201call that matters\u201d to her and called him the \u201cguardian and protector in this life.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cI want to bring you joy,\u201d she wrote in a letter, \u201cto feel like we can get through a day without ever having to talk \u2018work.\u2019\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Harp\u2019s brother, Preston Harp, <a target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" href=\"https:\/\/www.thedailybeast.com\/secret-of-trumps-emotional-bond-with-infatuated-blonde-natalie-harp-34-revealed\/\">told<\/a> the <em>Daily Beast<\/em> he believes his sister sees Trump as a father figure. Shortly before Natalie Harp delivered her speech at the RNC in 2020, her father unexpectedly died. Preston Harp said the death was ruled a suicide by the coroner but said his mother and sister told him to say he died in his sleep.
