Trump Plaza,\u201d attempting to circumvent a court order that blocked the addition of Trump\u2019s name to the official title. This move was part of a broader effort following a legal challenge by Rep.Joyce Beatty,who sued to prevent the name change. U.S. District Judge Christopher Cooper had previously ruled that the Kennedy Center exceeded its authority by attempting to rename itself without congressional approval and had blocked the inclusion of Trump\u2019s name, as well as a planned two-year closure for renovations. The board\u2019s recent votes, including plans to close most of the center for two years, are seen by critics as disregarding the court\u2019s rulings and may lead to further legal actions. Trump\u201d below the Kennedy Center sign, according to Rep. Joyce Beatty (D-OH), who sits on the board. The physical site outside the building is also set to be renamed \u201cthe President Donald J. Trump and The John F. The judge said congressional approval is required to change the institution\u2019s name, meaning the center\u2019s signage bearing Trump\u2019s name must be removed.
