They still are, but now they believe they are sisters, with the former going by Lilly and the latter Lana.<\/p>\n<p>They fell prey to the woke mind virus, with Lana saying he was a woman in 2012 and Lilly following suit in 2016, according to the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.hollywoodreporter.com\/news\/general-news\/second-wachowski-sibling-comes-as-873674\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Hollywood Reporter.<\/a> Considering that shift in their thinking, the brothers\u2019 film career must follow \u2014 for some reason \u2014 with Lilly Wachowski\u2019s latest film \u201cThe Hunted\u201d featuring what he called a \u201cwall-to-wall trans cast.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Who wouldn\u2019t be in favor of that?<\/p>\n<p>Besides millions of moviegoers who groan at more woke nonsense, apparently Hollywood.<\/p>\n<p>Wachowski said the film, with a budget around $10 million, is struggling to find the money. \u201cPeople like it, but they really don\u2019t want to make it,\u201d he said, pointing to the aforementioned issue of a trans cast, as <a href=\"https:\/\/variety.com\/2026\/film\/news\/lilly-wachowski-trans-movie-no-financing-1236833156\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Variety<\/a> reported Wednesday.<\/p>\n<p>Given the popularity of \u201cThe Matrix\u201d as an <a href=\"https:\/\/amzn.to\/3YuVZYV\" >iconic sci-fi series<\/a>, there was a point in time when getting the funds would not have been an issue. <a href=\"https:\/\/www.boxofficemojo.com\/title\/tt0133093\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Box Office Mojo<\/a> reported the first film, on a $63 million budget, made an impressive $473 million worldwide. In 2021, and \u201cThe Matrix: Resurrections\u201d had a $190 million budget, as reported by <a href=\"https:\/\/variety.com\/2021\/film\/box-office\/spiderman-billion-dollars-box-office-pandemic-1235143308\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Variety. <\/a><\/p>\n<p>It only managed to bring in $157 million worldwide, according to another report by <a href=\"https:\/\/www.boxofficemojo.com\/title\/tt10838180\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Box Office Mojo.<\/a><\/p>\n<p>It could be the series falling off, but let\u2019s not excuse the reason Wachowski gave.<\/p>\n<p>Maybe the people with money in Hollywood know an all-trans cast film would flop.<\/p>\n<p>With any luck, this is a sign of things to come.<\/p>\n<p>The strategy for success \u2014 whether in filmmaking, television, or other forms of media \u2014 has not changed.<\/p>\n<p>Entertainment, hence the name, should be entertaining.<\/p>\n<p>It does not take a Hollywood producer or a media executive to understand that.<\/p>\n<p>The average viewer doesn\u2019t want a lecture or a film to act as a vehicle for a social commentary. That\u2019s something Wachowski apparently does not understand.<\/p>\n<p>He said regarding his script for \u201cThe Hunted,\u201d \u201cIt was a response to what is happening in the world for trans people, and it gave me a hugely cathartic receptacle to dump all of my anger and rage and frustration into.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>There it is.
