The police shooting occurred after Guerrero allegedly drove toward officers, although he was not the intended target. Collins stated she coordinated with ICE&#8217;s acting director to ensure the rollout of body cameras,which arrived ahead of schedule.Her move received criticism from her Democratic opponent, Troy Jackson, who accused her of supporting legislation that provided substantial funding to ICE without requiring body cameras, and questioned her motives. Johan Sebastian Duran Guerrero, a 25-year-old Colombian national, was shot and killed by an ICE officer after he allegedly drove his vehicle toward officers. Now she expects us to thank her for body cams?\u201d Jackson responded to Collins\u2019s post. \u201cMainers can see through her PR stunt.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Collins voted along party lines in June for a nearly $70 billion bill providing additional funding for immigration enforcement over three years, with most money going to ICE and Customs and Border Protection.
