Crowley, Milwaukee County Executive and the establishment-backed candidate, narrowly defeated socialist Francesca Hong in the Democratic primary amid a tumultuous and competitive race. He will now face Republican Rep. Tom Tiffany in the upcoming election.<\/p>\n<p>New democratic-leaning polls show Crowley leading Tiffany by 3 points (47% to 44%), though this margin is within the poll\u2019s 3.5% margin of error. Crowley, a more centrist candidate, was considered a safer choice for Democrats compared to Hong, a socialist, especially after a chaotic primary cycle. His victory was partly due to party efforts to unite support after his initial campaign launch in September and a subsequent drop-out and endorsement of Lt. Gov.
