Ambassador Olga Stefanishyna told reporters at the time that communications were \u201cnot related to encouraging Ukraine from refraining to attack Russian military and energy infrastructure,\u201d only taking issue when \u201cAmerican economic interest\u201d was \u201caffected.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">If Ukraine is taking cues from the White House on which targets are off-limits, it appears that Russian military vessels and infrastructure remain fair game. Zelensky announced Wednesday that the Ukrainian military successfully launched a <a target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" href=\"https:\/\/apnews.com\/article\/russia-ukraine-black-sea-attack-9eadff0d7590923e3d98c99e2b61150b\">blitz of drone and missile strikes<\/a> against Russian targets at the Novorossiysk naval base.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cLast night, Ukraine\u2019s Defense Forces carried out a unique operation targeting the naval base in Novorossiysk \u2013 the last major stronghold of the Russian fleet in the Black Sea, more than 300 kilometers from the front line,\u201d the Ukrainian president said in a <a target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" href=\"https:\/\/x.com\/ZelenskyyUa\/status\/2087450109210464760\">social media post<\/a>. \u201cOur Palianytsia jet-powered drones, Neptune missiles, and unmanned naval systems successfully struck the designated targets.
