Last week, RFK Jr. disclosed that federal reviews uncovered nearly 30% of examined donor cases involving serious issues, including cases where patients woke up during surgery or were improperly considered donors. Notably, the Kentucky-based Network for Hope was decertified by the Trump management for unsafe practices, but remains operational as it appeals.Allegations include overbilling Medicare, misuse of organs, and fraudulently exploiting donor families, with whistleblowers revealing organs being discarded or misused for research. The inquiry shows a system that benefits executives financially while endangering patient safety and wasting taxpayer money. Additionally, the article touches on other political topics, such as the appointment of Anthropic’s first global affairs officer with a controversial history, and recent revelations about Trump’s secretive travel arrangements. the piece paints a picture of a deeply flawed organ donation system rife with abuse, prompting calls for reform and increased oversight.

Welcome to Tuesday’s edition of Washington Secrets.
