The U.S. targeted the ship\u2019s rudder after the crew ignored multiple warnings, according to a U.S. official. The vessel,identified as the Vela Nova by maritime security firm Vanguard,was struck by a missile approximately 71 nautical miles off the coast of Pakistan,causing a fire that was later extinguished.
