Max Miller, who refused to withdraw from his re-election race despite accusations of domestic abuse from his ex-wife. Miller’s continued candidacy has caused his poll numbers to plummet, raising concerns about costly and competitive races for the GOP, especially in a district considered “likely Republican.” Despite this, party leaders remain supportive, and Miller has emphasized his bipartisan support and accomplishments. The race has garnered attention due to Miller’s legal issues and personal controversies, with critics questioning his character. Democratic candidates, simultaneously occurring, are gaining ground in some polls, making the Ohio races more unpredictable and expensive amidst broader high-stakes elections in the state.

Republicans could be in trouble — and left to foot an expensive bill — after embattled Rep.
