Democrats could use the next few weeks to boost their candidate, union ironworker Brian Poindexter, as the nonpartisan Cook Political Report has the seat labeled \u201clikely Republican.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">But recent polls have shown Miller\u2019s grip on the race faltering, which, in turn, has increased pressure on him to withdraw.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">According to a <a target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" href=\"https:\/\/242750075.fs1.hubspotusercontent-na2.net\/hubfs\/242750075\/Toplines%20-%20OH-07%20General%2008_03%20Cint.pdf\">Tavern Research poll<\/a> conducted last week, Poindexter was polling 8 points ahead of Miller, 54%-46%, despite President Donald Trump winning the Cleveland-area seat by 11 points in 2024. <\/p>\n<div class=\"wex-inarticle-ad wex-inarticle-ad-art-dsk-inart-2\">\n<div class=\"wex-ad-wrap wex-ad-art-dsk-inart-2\" style=\"min-height:90px\"><span class=\"wex-ad-label\" hidden>Advertisement<\/span><\/p>\n<div id=\"div-gpt-ad-3182201-16\" data-wex-ad=\"art-dsk-inart-2\"><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cAs I\u2019ve said before, if the accusations against Max Miller are proven true, he should be in prison, not in Congress,\u201d Poindexter wrote in a statement. \u201cIt\u2019s unfortunate that Miller has chosen to keep putting his ex-wife and her family through this nightmare in the public spotlight. But let me be perfectly clear. I got into this campaign to fight for my neighbors and for working people across this district. He should not serve in the House of Representatives.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Prior to Miller\u2019s decision, he had also lost a prominent supporter in Sen.
