Despite this, Trump remains optimistic about a forthcoming deal. Zolghadr is now hinging Iran\u2019s agreement with Oman over the strait on the U.S. response to its demands.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">On Friday, Trump said he is personally involved in the peace talks over the strait and was optimistic about a deal being signed soon.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Meanwhile, Murphy is alarmed by what Iran stands to benefit from an end to the war.<\/p>\n<div class=\"wex-inarticle-ad wex-inarticle-ad-art-dsk-inart-3\">\n<div class=\"wex-ad-wrap wex-ad-art-dsk-inart-3\" style=\"min-height:90px\"><span class=\"wex-ad-label\" hidden>Advertisement<\/span><\/p>\n<div id=\"div-gpt-ad-3182201-17\" data-wex-ad=\"art-dsk-inart-3\"><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cThe price to reopen the strait increases by the day,\u201d the Senate Democrat said. \u201cThe supposed deal that\u2019s on the table right now would pay Iran $100 billion a year in order to reopen the strait. That is one-third of Iran\u2019s entire economy. What a victory for Iran that at the end of this war, they get paid to reopen the strait. They get paid to rebuild their military.
