The group partnered with the Free the 350 Bail Fund to raise money for bail for detainees after police dismantled an anti-police encampment in Madison, which had blocked streets and caused disruptions. Freedom Inc., which has received millions in public funds, portrayed law enforcement as oppressive and likened Black incarceration to political imprisonment, asserting that Black communities have been under continuous attack by the state. The institution reported bail for 32 protesters after the encampment was cleared, which was started after the death of repeat offender Corey Ruiz during an altercation with police. Activists, including Freedom Inc., participated in the protest, sharing images of vandalism and attributing harm to police.
