In June, the Commerce Department ordered Anthropic to <a target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/news\/white-house\/4607862\/white-house-anthropic-export-limits-chinese-access-report\/\">suspend access<\/a> to its Fable 5 and Mythos 5 models for foreign nationals. Because <a target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/tag\/anthropic\/\" data-type=\"post_tag\" data-id=\"17700\">Anthropic<\/a> lacked a reliable way to verify users\u2019 nationalities in real time, the company disabled both models worldwide within hours before gradually restoring access after negotiations with the administration.
