The deal involved rescinding the governance\u2019s \u201canti-weaponization\u201d fund and reaffirming Blanche\u2019s testifying during his confirmation hearing about Trump&#8217;s limited immunity from tax audits. This agreement was crucial after a justice Department settlement in May, which had sparked controversy over the use of taxpayer funds for Jan. 6 defendants.<\/p>\n<p>The deal also includes a formal, binding document limiting the scope of an IRS audit settlement to certain parties, including the President and the IRS, and removing the controversial fund.
