She expressed solidarity with MAHA advocates, emphasizing that many see their concerns as part of broader anxieties about affordable healthcare, toxic exposures, and low-cost prevention. Ocasio-Cortez discussed her personal experiences growing up in a household distrustful of healthcare and criticized how the political analysis of MAHA&#8217;s influence is often neglected, especially regarding mobilization of women by Republicans.A 2023 poll indicated that many Americans resonate with issues raised by MAHA, despite varying levels of identification with the movement. I mean, they are the misogynistic blind spot in many ways, but the cost of that is, I actually think a lot of it was MAHA.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">She explained how she thought there was \u201cvery little political analysis\u201d done on how Republicans mobilized women as part of the MAHA vote.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">According to a <a target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" href=\"https:\/\/www.kff.org\/public-opinion\/kff-health-tracking-poll-maha-and-the-midterms\/\">KFF poll<\/a> from May, 41% of U.S. adults say they identify as part of the MAHA movement, but far more than that say they resonate with issues raised by MAHA advocates. The poll results showed that 75% of people believe there\u2019s not enough regulation on food additives, 64% believe there\u2019s not enough pesticide regulations, and only 36% trust the EPA and FDA to operate without outside influence. The results ran across partisan lines as well.<\/p>\n<div class=\"wex-inarticle-ad wex-inarticle-ad-art-dsk-inart-2\">\n<div class=\"wex-ad-wrap wex-ad-art-dsk-inart-2\" style=\"min-height:90px\"><span class=\"wex-ad-label\" hidden>Advertisement<\/span><\/p>\n<div id=\"div-gpt-ad-3182201-16\" data-wex-ad=\"art-dsk-inart-2\"><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">In the Thursday podcast, Ocasio-Cortez discussed her experience growing up in a household where her own parents had a distrust of the healthcare system, tying concerns about healthcare from progressives and socialists to the concerns of the MAHA movement.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cI see how all of these issues, that have been at their surface level expressed as right wing, are actually very much just the anxieties that we have as working people not being able to afford healthcare,\u201d Ocasio-Cortez said, listing off questions like, \u201cHow do I stop being sick?\u201d \u201cHow do I prevent being sick by limiting my exposure to things that I think are toxic?\u201d and \u201cWhat are the holistic and low-cost alternatives that I can turn to? Several doctors and public health-background officials <a target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/policy\/healthcare\/4534304\/doctors-run-anti-maha-campaigns-midterm-elections\/\">have run campaigns on the Left<\/a> as a counterweight to MAHA\u2019s influence on the Right. Some Democratic lawmakers, such as Sen. <a target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/tag\/cory-booker\/\">Cory Booker<\/a> (D-NJ), have hopped in to suggest that the Democratic Party attempt to <a target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/news\/campaigns\/congressional\/4579519\/democrats-poach-maha-voters-midterms\/\">poach MAHA voters<\/a> from <a target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/premium\/4581578\/congressional-democrats-maha-maga-verse\/\">the GOP electorate<\/a> to the blue side of the ballot.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">On the GOP side of the ballot, the MAHA movement has seen significant success in the Republican primaries so far this year. For example, in Iowa, MAHA PAC helped push farmer <a target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/policy\/healthcare\/4576828\/reynolds-maha-iowa-food-dye-bans-ivermectin-fitness-tests\/\">Zach Lahn<\/a> over the <a target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/news\/campaigns\/state\/4592573\/randy-feenstra-loss-delivers-blow-trump-endorsed-candidate-success-rate\/\">finish line to beat <\/a>President Donald Trump-<a target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/news\/campaigns\/state\/4605790\/trump-randy-feenstra-rival-iowa-endorsement\/\">backed Rep.
