Paul discussed recent Senate hearings where Fauci invoked his Fifth Amendment right against self-incrimination over 100 times and indicated plans to assist with charges against Fauci, including exploring legal avenues at the state level. Uthmeier indicated that &#8220;nothing is off the table&#8221; in terms of pursuing charges, citing serious allegations that Fauci profited from the pandemic response and caused harm to the public. Despite Fauci receiving a preemptive presidential pardon from Joe Biden, Paul and Uthmeier argue that the pardon only covers federal charges, not state ones. The pardon does not grant Fauci immunity from state charges, only federal.
